  1. Lol, we don’t have mountains, true, but we have lots of hills and ridges.. And it’s only because a meteorite crashed into the freestate a while ago, If that didnt happen, it would probably have been even flatter...we may not even have existed...
  2. Another one today, proving Oom Ben’s point of Gauteng being drab and dreary... <edit> The cacti adds that desert dryness feeling...
  3. Totally agree,
  4. Finally got out for a ride. Been working for 15 days straight, not even a trainer ride in between. (also posted in SS thread)
  5. Friday....
  6. Impressive, I have to stop at a BnB if I have to do that distance, in a car....
  7. Watched True Detective Season 1 and 2. Now I know what people have been saying about season2, but second time out, I really was a lot better than the first. Not keen on S03 just yet. (watched it when it aired) too fresh in my mind still. Gonna start Killing Eve tonight. Sounds weird.. I meant I'm going to start watching Killing eve tonight.
  8. Road of MTB (I assume a mutlisurface bike being the better tool for the job) Are you currently in Maputo? Do you want to cut as straight as possible through the countries? Camping? BnB's? While I was doing some work in Moz last yeas, I saw a dude with a loaded bike heading north. Looked like loads of fun. Maybe one day when I'm grown up and sans responsibility.
  9. My rear tyre pressure woes continue. I'll have to sort out tubeless tape, as it's leaking between the tyre and the rim. So I took my youngest for a ride, while I pretended to be a runner. Queue Brown Photo after the last couple of green ones..... Edit: He does not like to change gears. Mashing on the pedals on the ups, then being too wasted to even stay on the bike on the flats. I have tried in vain to explain the usefulness of gears.... Like father like son, I guess....
  10. I hate Ninja rocks. The problem is the stealthy attack, leaves no time for a defensive tuck and roll. Sorry Ben, hope you heal up quickly!
  11. I have been suffering from some depression the last week. Getting on the bike and getting out, has been incredibly difficult. Paired with some mechanical issues on the bike that I have not been able to sort properly, has made for a less than perfect cycling week (or two, I’m not sure anymore) Seemed to have gotten my rear tyre to hold some pressure, so the missus and I went out this afternoon. The route had some challenging climbs (for me anyways) which went great, I rode 95% of them, where the last time out (years ago according to strava) I walked 95% of them. anyway, enough words (this is a pictures thread) so on with the drab landscape (wow, these photos compressed really badly, will manually resize next time..)
  12. I so desperately wanted these to fit me, but my platvoete, does just not fit into them properly. as for SPD sandals, "nee dankie" sê die hasie.
  13. I don't believe a word this guy is saying. He mentioned "up my sleeve" in the video......but he's not wearing a shirt!!!!!
  14. Isn't Cycling as an activity rewarding enough?
  15. Sneaky Friday ride, while I am supposed to be working.... was great!!!
  16. Just like top end motorcycles and cars, I am not their target market. I can't however fathom, from a material (call it volume value) point of view, how these plastic bikes are so expensive. Now you can talk to me about prototyping costs and R & D and tooling costs, but these are then amortized over the first production run. Just like how a mtb tyre costs the same as a motorcycle tyre. or how some motorcycle tyres are more expensive than a car tyre.
  17. Watopia is always available, the other two are "guest worlds" which is on a schedule. In the app, there is a calendar, colour coded to indicate the different days for the different worlds if I remember correctly. Yes. (Short answer)
  18. Wife is on 27.5. Hardtail and dual sus. But she's real short, only frames we could find that is small enough.
  19. Mate of mine in the states went through the same. Followed the normal resetting, repairing procedure with no luck. Wahoo sent him a new unit.
  20. Just checked. The BB was serviced in Sept 2019. Not sure if I want to take the bike back and risk more damage if this is how a BB Cup is installed. In fact, I think I'm done with the service provider.
  21. Thanks D'nD I'm not sure who worked on the bb last. I will have to go back on some invoices to check. I will get the cups out and see if they are salvageable. Looks to me the distorted part of the cup is pressing against the bearing, and thus the bearing isn't turning. Now to break the news to the wifey.....
  22. Right, so after lots of information, and peoples lamenting of the pressfit bearing implementation within the cycling industry, I am no closer to any answers. Wheels mnf at this stage is not an option. Wife has severely diminished income (if anyone is looking for a cycling coach (with a sport science hons) - lemme know) Do I only replace the bearings? or the cups as well. I assume the cups are the bigger "flange" type metal piece that the bearings sits in. Is this pressed into the carbon frame? Bearings should be easy to source from bearingman, Cups? "Any reputable" bikeshop? Do I try and find bearings that will work without the adapters? Is there such things? the bearings will then basically be exposed to the elements ? Apologies for my loads of questions. Working on my wife's prized Yeti, is taking my life into my own hands, I really don't want to stuff anything up.
  23. I Am on a 155 spaz phenom. The most comfy saddle I have ever had. Ever.
  24. Photos as promised. mainly the non drive side where the bearing is stuck. As you can see the previous bearing fitter/replacer may have messed up the cups. Also the adapters are pictured, for information.
