In terms of out the box readiness, the wheel off, bluetooth ant+ capability of the kickr is great. I'm running zwift on a Iphone7. My garmin reads the power output and distance that gets synched for vitality points. Once you get into chasing drops and badges in Zwift, you will son find the "mundane"has been removed from indoor training. For me in any case. It works for some, and not for others.

Are your options either a treadmill or a bicycle smart trainer? I have no experience with Zwift run. From what I understand it's free. My experience is only with wheel-off trainers, and I think it's the way to go. Look at Elite's range of trainers, alternatively Kickr has been serving my household well the last couple of years, with zero issues.

Recently upgraded to Iphone SE (Second Generation) from a 7, which I have had for 4 years. It has not given me an ounce of issue. Same Chip as the 11, but none of the unecessary crap. Still too much money to spend on a device.

I have aluminium moka pot. I make americano with this along with hairo grinder (manual) It's a double espresso pot. Cant compare to Stainless as I don't have one. Perhaps I'll spoil myself with a Stainless Steel pot in the near future.

Thanks for sharing this Wayne. Very valuable perspective. It's been financially focused for me, and I have failed miserably, constantly. Which affects my happiness. It's very difficult to change one's perspective on these things. It's a long road to walk.

This is really sad. I have been fortunate to have done 3 towers, as well as support the missus doing nationals xco there, and witness some awesome dhi runs at the venue. spent a weekend there experiencing some of the best trails, with bush tunnels that seem to go on for miles. during lockdown, opted to book a cabin there in stead of the bnb’s in town, while conducting business.. as the typical standard of mankele, the service was excellent. It’s no small feat to keep a venue like they have in tip top shape, never mind maintaining trails, I know they had a nice set-up for hosting schools, but with the cancellation of all extra mural activities, it must have been some blows to a business such as theirs. It has always been fully booked venue, and it seems this has not been enough. I don’t know the full story, but I am really depro about this.
