  1. I do think that it is blatant racism that the majority of the runners tested for dope at the Comrades were black. Disgusting prejudice in fact. Oh no wait. They test ALL the top 10.....and they say white men can't dance? Can't run either!
  2. I've got stuff that comes from same factory used by first ascent for all their kit. PM me your email address and I'll put you onto someone who brings in a shed load of cycling stuff and will do custom kit.
  3. Not by retailers, it really depends what mood the customs agent is in. I have brought in stuff with no charge at all when it should have been charged and and the same type of product another time has incurred the full duty and vat charge. It really is a bit of a lottery but I have found it to generally be worth taking the chance, I win more than I lose. But I don't cry when I do have to pay.
  4. Is it possible to have a sticky on guidelines to posting a classified on the hub that hubbers wanting to post an ad get referred to before they can post their ad? Maybe until someone has posted 2 or 3 ads. This may eliminate some of the omissions we see regularly in ads such as: Missing in the title of the ad no size for frames/bikes no shoe size no clothing size location for team mates such as for epic change title to include sold prefix when item sold I'm sure there are other items we would all like to see included. Is it worth it to try this to improve the hub?
  5. Just be aware that duty of clothes is 45% and VAT is 14% so you could end up paying an extra 60% if customs do their job properly...
  6. You can order rudy project with RX lenses, they replace the normal impactx lenses. Ask asg, they are a sites sponsor.

  20. How stuffed up is this? SAN FRANCISCO, CA (BRAIN)—The family of a San Francisco cyclist killed two years ago when he crashed into a car while speeding on his bike has sued the popular Strava website for encouraging dangerous behavior to win challenges on the social networking site. In a seven-page negligence lawsuit filed Monday in San Francisco’s Superior Court, the parents of Kim Flint Jr., 41, claim their son crashed while he was attempting to defend his “King of the Mountain” title in Orinda, California’s Tilden Park on June 19, 2010. According to the documents, Flint held the King of the Mountain title for a hill in Tilden Park, and when he discovered another rider had beaten his time, went out to defend his title. King or Queen of the Mountain is the term Strava uses to identify the fastest rider on a particularly segment, as clocked by GPS. Flint apparently collided with an automobile as he was attempting to regain the lead, and was killed. Strava was negligent because it failed to warn cyclists competing in the KOM challenge that the road conditions were not suited for racing and that it was unreasonably dangerous; failing to take adequate measures to ensure the KOM challenges took place on safe courses; and encouraging dangerous behavior. “It was foreseeable that the failure to warn of dangerous conditions, take safety measures, and encourage dangerous behavior would cause Kim Flint Jr. to die since Kim Flint Jr. relied on [strava] to host a safe challenge,” the suit claims. “Had [strava] done the aforementioned acts, Kim Flint Jr. would not have died as he did.” Mark Riedy, Strava spokesperson, issued a statement debunking the validity of the case. “The death of Kim Flint was a tragic accident, and we expressed our sincere condolences when it occurred in 2010. Based on the facts involved in the accident and the law, there is no merit to this lawsuit,” the statement read. The family is asking for damages in excess of $25,000 to cover wage loss, loss of use of property, hospital and medical expenses and other damages suffered by the family.
  21. Wow, we're really scraping the RSN barrel of geriatrics to find the best RSN placed old man. What about the old old one Horner? What a farce from a supposedly SUPER TEAM.
  22. No they don't. And WTC wants a credible sport without question marks over results. Which is why they have the suspension rules in place. If only the UCI had the same courage. Tumbleweed has it on the "beyond a reasonable doubt". This is not a court case. It cannot end up in court (as in the Justice system court), it can only go as far as the CAS, Court of Arbitration for Sport, where it is much easier to get a "conviction". In the Contador, the CAS increased than ban over what the UCI where asking for, remembering that AC had 1/80th of the reportable dosage. They were convinced he had broken the rules and it was up to the athlete to prove he had not broken the rules. But the difference is he did have a positive, even if only tiny. In this latest case I think a lot of hubbers are tied up in the emotion of "he's been tested and never failed and is therefore not a cheat", but the reality is, that does not matter. USADA is bringing a case against a group of guys based on anecdotal evidence (witness testaments and blood analyses and who knows what else from the feds) and "beyond a reasonable doubt" does not come into it. This case is far more about the balance of probabilities and I doubt USADA would have launched this action without being pretty sure of their stuff.
  23. Amazing that Flavio Becca chose to support JB when Bob Stapleton was looking for a sponsor for one of the greatest teams that ever raced. Even if they did come the dark doping days of T-Telekom and T-Mobile. Or maybe he offered and Bob said no thanks, too dodgy for my high ideals.
