Shipping is mad expensive atm. Cost me half that to get my bike in Kuwait. Now the cheapest quote I got was 8,5 to get my bike in Brunei.
Did a quick bike build and ship exercise .... shipping is a killer!

Seems it is only available on the Trail Pistol for now. Sounds good tho. https://ridegg.com/products/trailpistol?fbclid=IwAR2VwdOCd8PGBtiO2xZd2YXgiKIoEDG3aqmgHcs7UVjEsHjJQM9p8nEBiq8&option=Race
Carbon rear triangle it is. From the IG pics it looks pretty sweet. So, I'm going to take the hints and go with the old ALU rear end is being replaced by a carbon rear end?
'let the heavy metal go'..... so do away with the metal
'but the memory remains' ... They will be compatible with all the old frame types etc

Thats what I also thought. The Peddlehead has been off of the menu for a while now.So, I'm going to take the hints and go with the old ALU rear end is being replaced by a carbon rear end?

I’m losing weight quickly but I don’t think it is good. I’m skipping lunch and some days breakfast and lunch. Our baby and work is keeping me really busy and sometimes I just don’t find the time to eat and the hunger subsides. Dinner is usually healthy but then I’ll often have two portions and most nights some ice cream or half a slab. Friday nights are takeout nights but even then I try eat as fresh and healthy as possible.
I’m not getting any exercise except for playing with our baby and walking a lot at work. I hardly ever sit.
What I’m scared of is that I’m losing muscle mass as I can see my arm muscles are getting smaller and that when things start getting back to normal and I eat more regularly that the weight will just come back. I suppose then I will also be able to run, ride or gym again.
Exactly. Thats why I can’t understand why when shipping it, it is such an issue.I have travelled numerous times with my bikes and Evoc bags...they always have to be checked in at "oversize luggage" counters after paying the extra luggage fee
Ja I honestly don’t get it. Spoke to one of the big shops here and they import their bikes using Singapore airlines so I’ll try sort it out from this side because I need my bike bag for post covid trips.Aggenee
So it seems it is easier to take it over with you than shipping it.
PS sorry I see you did later post that there was an issue I missed that bit.
Unfortunately they changed their minds and said it is too big. It is 30cm too long. I have also flown with my EVOC bag but there was no space in the car or the venter for my bag. I did not think it would be such an issue to ship it...
Aaah good to hear..I sent my husband's Evoc bike bag (bike included) to him.. No issues... Can't remember which airline the guy flew that took the bike over for him though.. But glad you are sorted.
Unfortunately that will have to stay behind for now. I’ll bring it over as a carry on bag at some point. And the Evoc bag then? How will that be shipped?
The airline let the shipping company know that my bag is indeed too big and they won’t take it. I’ll have to put it in a 110x110x85 box.
This is just to help anyone in the future.
Ja I’ll definitely have it looked at, I’m in a different country now tho and I think it could be an issue with the plug I’m using. Will charge it through my laptop at some stage and see if that changes anything.Yeah, sorry, was lazy go go back and check who it was after I already typed my message. That's not good news... you should send it back.
Was that me? I paid 3k for a new watch. My battery is not lasting long anymore tho.Had to take my Fenix 3 to Garmin today, watch was switching off everytime I pressed any of the buttons, and the altimeter seemed to have stopped working, wasn't too concerned about the altimeter but the switching off was a problem.
Wanted to check here if anybody knows the what the current replacement costs are, I saw it was initially R2k and then I saw someone posted it costed R3k for the replacement.
Hi guys/girls
I'm trying to get my bike to me and have been told by two shipping companies that my bike bag (EVOC) is to long.
The EVOC bag is 147 x 85 x 36 and what they are saying is it should be in a box that is 110 x 110 x 85.
Does anyone know of a company or person that can help ship my bike in the EVOC bag? My protective gear, shoes and some baby products that we need are in there so I'm not sure how all of this will fit in another bag/box.
Thank you
Pieter
Edit: The shipping company spoke to the airline and they will accept my bag as is.
This.Best is to do it yourself. Find all the nics and scratches, possible cracks etc. Also no one can do the job the way you want it.
Some real gems out there.Gotta love chinese translations of alot of products.
True.I find the ambiguity of using the standard font as opposed to comic sans or ALL CAPS elicits more interesting responses in general.
apply comic sans. You have obviously never ridden the Spruit in JHB before...Obviously not. But some of us who actually ride the Stellenbosch trails and would like to continue doing so do care.
But please, don't let me stand in your way of getting to 30000 posts, we can filter through the non constructive comments.
