  1. Dude, for R3k the bike is going to be heavy and if you are spending R3k then weight can't be a concern. Disc brakes are much better than normal brakes (v-brakes) and its definitely worth it. You wont find any pro's racing the world cup circuit with v-brakes to save weight.
  2. I just feel so left out

  17. Get a Leatt neck brace The owners son is in my class at school, he came to do a presentation for us a few weeks ago. Looks pretty cool
  18. It was on the ergomachine. It's death, more so than a IDT, horrible stuff.
  19. see, in Europe there's more motivation to get on the IDT, if you ride outside you might freeze your ass off. here, it's just a little bit cold.
  20. We did a similar thing in rowing. 4x8min pieces. 2min at rate 20 (rate = cadence when rowing) 2min at rate 24 2min at rate 26 1min at rate 28 1min at rate 30. The 1st 2 sets are killer (at rate 20+24) its similar to pedaling the a 53/11 uphill. You just don't get any momentum to push you through. Great training though.
  21. also, try to keep your upper body as still as possible, ie no swaying. It will make you faster if swaying (so marginally), but will use lots of energy. Not swaying will also put more pressure on the legs to do the work and therefore is better training.
  22. Whatever you do, Sapim CX Ray spokes
