  1. Perhaps similar in a few of the lower groups as well.
  2. That’s a great time , quite a shift from over four hours ! positioning is sooo NB as I’m sure the more experienced racing snakes will confirm. I managed a 3:12 in 1E, my PB and I reckon a lot of it was due to be watchful of the group dynamics , being well positioned before climbs and managing effort once the climb was done. Perhaps some of the more experienced guys chip in, would be great to hear their thoughts.
  3. Eish, do I even want to improve my seeding and have to deal with all this crap and dangerous riding? As mentioned had some similar shenanigans in 1E, albeit at a slightly slower speed.
  4. Indeed . What a great finish to the women’s race !
  5. Had a great day out in 1E, the pace was hot from the start and we caught quite a large contingent of 1D at IIRC before Fish Hoek, all in all made for a big group which only thinned out after Smitswinkel- getting to the climb took a few efforts off road for me as there numerous sketchy moments leading up to that point , I unfortunately also encountered a complete idiot who thought it wise to cut across to the pavement on the Westlake off ramp heading down to the main road, MVP would have been proud of my bike skills to narrowly avoid a high speed crash. I ended up with my first PB in 10 years so definitely doing something right!
  6. It was indeed underwhelming, but in all honesty has been for a while. A ton of sun screen and other skin products and hardly a good deal to be found. Even the clothing brands were asking full price. Is the cost to have a stand a factor in the limited stands and deals? Kind of sad as it is a big event, considering what has been on offer in the Good Hope Centre days.
  7. I loved the way MVP set that pace and was comfortable to do most of the work only to drop them with a great display of power.
  8. Ah, understandable. Valid points i guess!
  9. this is all quite concerning, any insight into the waning interest or excitement? @Wannabe - why is this your last?
  10. Keen to hear about your experience with the valves
  11. So someone that wants to spend money importing something for sale and asks if we want black or silver ?A cursory look at any website will reveal that BLACK is by far the dominant colour. Not quite a technical question is it ?
  12. He asked about colour, a simple visit to a few shops will share what colour is dominant .
  13. The 840 is a great unit and it actually has buttons as well should you be that way inclined , the touch screen is just so much so faster from a device navigation perspective though.
  14. the fact that you are asking here is a sign that you have done very little homework - perhaps do some
  15. Great post, just be lekker , it really takes nothing to acknowledge the driver that sees you and gives that little more space , or if riding along a narrow road actually waits until they can pass you with a wider berth - yes it happens ! And often to me when going through Kalk Bay. Same applies to being on motorcycle, a quick hoot goes a long way .
  16. Thanks guys, will give the Temu one a shot and see, at the price it's a safe gamble. Gets alot of use, so need something durable Will bear the Forza option in mind as well
  17. Does anyone have experience with Heart rate monitor belts from Temu. My Garmin belt is looking worse for wear and is already losing signal.
  18. Having to hear too many times and read about poor group riding Will this ever stop ? I too had a few nervy moments today, people need to remember these are all fun rides . Will probably see many guys with hardly any CT’s in the upper bunches come the 8th March again.
  19. And this morning I saw two cyclists who, in their infinite wisdom thought it okay to cycle on the M5 - direction town. Nogal in club kit as well.
  20. And just today, the cycling community joined a memorial ride for the cyclist killed by the drunk POS in Camps Bay in December Sickening
  21. Very true on the movement, I have noticed when filtering on the motorbike, that a slight side to side movement, results cars giving me some extra space, I also ride with my brights on during the day.
  22. WTAF! 🫣 My view, this is a perfect example of where one should "take the lane" and pull to left once there is more space again, but the truck appeared to have other ideas. A very fortunate cyclist - what possessed the truck driver to think it safe / appropriate to pass so close!
