Ja mate, having known you since those MX team days at least I know what you say has merit and should not be scoffed at!

Different RPE value I would imagine
What do you know .... I've also seen those numbers you've been posting for the Mullet,I reckon I could take him if I felt like 😎

That's what I read into what you wrote ...

Please keep us posted about the longevity of that belt.
BMW motorcycles have stayed away from chains as much as possible. Drive shafts on the larger bikes, and belt drive when the 650GS was first launched. The Dakar 650GS came out with a chain. And when people started riding the normal 650GS off road BMW stopped using the belt drive, and switched to chain drive.
Their "promotional garble" was that the belt showed premature wear and tear off road, and that the chain drive was more reliable off road.
Some 25 years later and now MTB's go belt drive ....
Unfortunately not someone who rides a lot so I doubt wear will be an issue ... sorry Chris, must be honest I'd also be interested.

You end up with massive muscle stiffness because you're only conditioned for cycling so the glutes, hammies & calves take a beating. It sounds inconsequential but believe me, you pay the price. It's literally only the Pros that can climb those massive mountains on the bike, for the rest it's a 30min to 1 hour hike, almost every day.
Interesting that I was asked a few years ago by a lady friend that was doing her first Epic what I would have done differently ... I said instead of those rushed up, over and back at Breedsnek a month before I would have walked, over and back a few times!

this morning they would have been cursing like unpaid sailors as they hiked their bikes up that climb
I think it would be a close call, I still have nightmares about that climb though and it was many years ago that I did it!

My cleanup did however uncover a 2008 Sani2C and a 2005 Sabie Experience DVD. I'm going to hang onto those and see if I can still watch them. I featured in one of them, so it'll be interesting to see young me riding down Nic's pass ☺️
Nice to know that Marianne Vos is still a legend (I'm out of touch)
You ARE still young homie!
Vos the Boss, I have a hoodie somewhere amongst my cycling stuff that says 'I want to ride like Marianne Vos'
And no it doesn't fit anymore!

The final hour will be dramatic, as always. I have a soft spot for Mads Peterson and want him to podium at least.
Nibali was the last Italian a few seasons ago who broke away and stayed away. Ganna gonna do it, although he’s more of a turbo diesel than an explosive dragster?Weather, according to The Inner Ring, a cool 8°C and the start and reaching 17°C by the finish and sunny most of the way. Almost no wind, just a slight 7-8km/h onshore breeze along the coast which means a slight tailwind for the Cipressa and Poggio.
So a beautiful summers day in Europe!
Of the many things I'm told daily by my wife, doctor, the media et al are going to kill me I'd rate that pretty low on the worry meter .... Having said that, if that's the 'crusade' you want to pursue then please don't let anyone stop you!
How would the organisers know how many riders would be affected by Ramadan besides a possible educated guess ... or is it a question asked at entry in the past (I cannot imagine it was), I can't see any other way to identify them
Don't mind me though just thinking out loud ...

Jossie ou, coffee through the nose and all over the flippin couch
My wife is not impressed 😂
I wonder how much genetics has a part to play in the ability to ride fast enough to manage a sub 3 at CTCT?
My gut feeling is that many do but not everyone has that and the other skills (positioning, bunch surfing etc.) to do it .... just thinking out loud
Thank heavens I'm just a hacker cyclist .... when people ask I say I own an Sworks Epic, don't have to mention which one do I?
