  1. Ma se hare 🥶 Strange weather but hey .... as my wife says 'It's what he does ' 😎
  2. Was originally BigBen ... A nickname colleagues at work gave me decades ago Changed it to BigS for a short while when all the 'hate' was going around towards Specialized riders 🤪 And since I haven't been as 'big' as I was in those days changed it to NSBB and it's stuck.... So far
  3. Amateur mate .... I have rubber wrist bands, socks AND temporary tattoos bru!
  4. Was going to say '30km/h for a long time' really? Clearly I'm not as enthusiastic as I thought 🤔
  5. Now that @scotty doesn't visit here anymore I guess I'll have to take the responsibility GO LANCE!
  6. A bit long and I'm sure a few holes can be poked in what he says but still interesting points made, to me anyway https://youtu.be/99BS5ju8IiI?si=JIrxJr_IiQl1-OVs
  7. Shouldn't have spent so much on that Corsaratti!
  8. Yip ... so true that, hated by campers all over the land!
  9. Tough day out on Steely Dan, not so warm on the Highveld ... 3 speed not the best choice with gale coming along 😩 As in life though there aren't always easier gears so you have to make do 🤪 That front wheel 😮 #IYKYK If you look carefully in the distance 😉
  10. Chain matching cassette, genius! Thank you 👍
  11. Just some practicalities I have experienced with a 2nd wheel set 1. This was rather easy was to ensure the 'spacing' for the cassette is the same so that I didn't have to fiddle with the gears when switching between them. 2. A little more complicated was whether to move the cassette between the wheels or have a cassette on each. Moving it around was a schlep, to me anyway The problem I had with a cassette on each was, assuming a bike that's ridden a lot, the cassettes not wearing 'evenly' .... Over time it would slip on either one of the set of wheels. For those who know, is there a better easier easy to handle that? Thanks Ben
  12. It starts for my little Tintin! My wife "he'll be ok on that pink bike" .... uhhm no, Grandad will go get him his own black noise maker this weekend 😎
  13. Desperately need some rain on the Highveld, cracker day for a ride if only Gale didn't turn up 💨 'You're dirty and sweet, oh yeah' Lekker playlist this morning 🎼. Wonder how many people know the real name of that song ... and no it's not 'Get it on' 🤪
  14. My brother will be over from the land of the long white cloud. Him, myself and my son will be riding .... just stick together and have fun! The opportunities for riding together are dwindling so gotta make the most of it 😎
  15. OUT AT LAST 😁 Also first ride on the 'soft gravel' bike ... feels pretty lekker if I must say so myself. Just quickly changed the stem (shorter) and bar (little wider), this being a bigger frame than the previous build I did. I'll try it out tomorrow 😎
  16. Airshaft sorted 😎 Bonus now it has 90mm of travel not 120 Just to get to a test ride sometime!
  17. Just have to sort a problem with the air shaft but that's for tomorrow 😎 P.S. no, @GrahamW says I have to sort out some cabling issues to neaten it up so there's that 😜 Thanks as always to my mate Thys the painter, @GrahamW from The Workshop in Alberhoughton and @Wyatt Earp for their invaluable advice and assistance!
  18. Looking for a RockShox airshaft 29" Happy to pay a few sheckles if necessary 😎
  19. That bike evolved into this over time The frame is too small for me and I've decided to do something different with it again .... 100mm full travel fork, its anyway now running 29" wheels Paint and decals done, fork painted, rebuilt with other stantions (those were badly worn) Now just the build over some time in the next days
  20. To my knowledge you don't have to get the Stans specific ones ... Any 12mm to 9mm end caps will work
  21. I guess as you say it is the individual world champs not the Olympics 😎
  22. I see there's a bit of a fracas going on about BoC's team blocking the road yesterday .... Subsequently the entire team got 'yellow cards' Ben questioned it in a tweet with an admission they had done it deliberately, he has since deleted his account on X
  23. 'Sickness comes on horseback, leaves on foot' Just ambling round the suburbs still .... not sure how high on the hipster rating that would be? Wonder how many remember those helmets and shoes, dug them out my 'cycling relics' box.
