  1. Suffice to say a combination of personal and health/injury issues... how and when they'll be resolved is difficult to say but staying positive
  2. #EkSeMaarNiks The Guardian: Amsterdam calls for crackdown on menace of souped-up e-bikes. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/jan/14/amsterdam-crackdown-souped-up-e-bikes-dangerous-streets
  3. As others mentioned just an interesting number to observe ... at 62 years of age and currently dealing with issues that have brought my riding to a standstill for a while with no real prospect of getting back to it soon I guess 'it is what it is' as the cool kids say. I can tell my grand children about it though 😜
  4. 53x18 More for show than go though this build 😎 But is intended to be ridden occasionally!
  5. Where's @Gnarly when you need him ... his advice, always ... eat less, pooh more! And as told to me by another hubber "you cannot exercise your way out of a bad 'diet'"
  6. Thank you, was going to ask why I would be looking for circlips if there was a lip for the bearing to 'stop' against 😕 .... since my life I haven't seen a BB30 with a circlip on both sides of each bearing, maar wat weet ek 😉
  7. Yebo! Thanks so much, I must just make a plan to get out to you ... I'll be in contact. Spinnekop might just have and may well be round my area tomorrow so I'll let you know what happens 😎
  8. Despite Schnavel's best attempts he only has one ... so if anyone has even just one please 🙏
  9. You are a scholar and a gentleman! Thank you so much
  10. Looking for just the BB30 snaprings (circlips) .... anyone maybe have some lying around? Unfortunately none of my normal suppliers have them, they do obviously have them as a set with the bearings but I already have a new set of bearings! I'm in Alberhoughton so somewhere around would be ideal .... TIA Ben
  11. Hobby is when you buy a new bike. Passion is when you keep the old ones running ðŸĪŠ
  12. I'd be very interested to know the stats of how many ride their stuff to death and how many carefully analyze wear and replace timeously... not interested enough to create a poll though, I'm off to Hector Norris Park to go do something different on a bike for a change 😎
  13. Sorry ou's but as a non "anorak" I'd rather take the Sheriff's advice and ride my stuff till it's dead .... but that's probably just me the "luddite" These "micro millimeter" discussions go over my head
  14. Every now and then I read stuff from some hubbers and it reminds of that yellow ðŸĪ  chap ... ek se maar net 😜
  15. Ride with whoever invites you ... life's to short to be petty about things
  16. There are easier ways to spend a Sunday morning, albeit with a lot of frustration going by the golfers f'ing and blinding ... but few as rewarding as a bike ride in this mornings perfect conditions! Blue skies for days on the Highveld 😎
  17. The right tire choice for today, a cracker ride out 😃 A corner has certainly been turned 😎
  18. https://www.bicycling.com/news/a42221016/zwift-bans-digitally-doping-rider/ "We’ll see if he makes a triumphant return to Zwift in May—or if he takes them up on their offer of reinstatement if he can prove in a lab setting that he can manage 8.5 watts per kilo for a solid four minutes."
  19. No, no, not today 😎 After half an hour of fighting with the tubeless on the front wheel, messing sealant everywhere it actually stayed up for the ride! A 'no chain' ride really 👀 - if you know you know ... take them whenever they come, it's not often!
  20. Got a little wet this morning ... I'm not really a coffee rider though ðŸĪŠ
  21. A photo in this case would help a lot ... it would depend very much where the chunk is out, how big it is and so on In my experience it has been 50/50 successful, if its on the braking surface or around the spoke area I would hang it on the wall as a decoration ... that's just my opinion though perhaps the carbon experts can shed more light A photo would definitely help though!
  22. As much as some may despise this kind of lifestyle bloody hell I'd do it in a heartbeat if it was an option!
  23. The weather has been rather atrocious so did my first PROPER indoor trainer ride today for a very long time putting in some effort ... 'dead tired' but happy 😊
