  1. I guess the white cages look better now 🤪
  2. Designed and printed this, it's a bracket to mount a dolly chair on the back of my 3y old granddaughter's new bike she got for her birthday on Monday. The one it came with doesn't allow the seatpost to go low enough for her to reach the pedals.
  3. That white was irritating me as well as the unused front derailleur cable stops and the fact that the rear gear cable isn't a full outer. Stripped, drilled/filed the cable stops. It's at the painter now ....
  4. What are these 'bars' y'all going on about? I'm no lightweight and have settled on 25/28 PSI F/R on MTB and 32/35 PSI F/R on gravel I have found that going too low on my gravel bike makes the bike wander around too much ... No idea how accurate my pump is and I certainly am not one of those that can feel a single PSI either way either
  5. I'm still of the opinion #AnyoneButGwin 🤪
  6. Having one of those times where I just can't seem to get a break if you'll excuse the pun .... but hey "You could stand me up at the gates of Hell But I won't back down"
  7. Breaks "a pause in work or during an activity or event. "I need a break from mental activity"" #EkSeMaarNet 😛
  8. Will have to see how I feel middle next week then decide but I'd like to ... maybe just for fun I've done every single fast one MTB so would like to keep it up somehow
  9. Best I spend some time on that track bike on the road a bit perhaps it'll come?
  10. Alas it would appear the 'Pienaar clan' were of the 'my body is a temple not to be defaced' types 🤔
  11. First ride after 24 days 13 hours 41 minutes and 56 seconds! Hopefully 'onwards and upwards' from here even though I detest that saying 🤪 Still trying to find my 'tribal tattoo' so I can have some 'ink' as the cool kids say.
  12. I always put a bit of light grease on the end of the valve core before I put it in. Seems to help ...
  13. I beg to differ but that's probably also just me... that Merida is starting to show its age me thinks 😜
  14. Like with most things everyone has their own reasons or wants and available cash, jeez just live and let live I say ... if you want a 50 grand medal go get it, if you want to ride the trails in your 'hood go do it Ek skud maar net my kop 😤
  15. Sadly lots of little bikes brown bread the last week and a bit .... 😞
  16. Ai Fanie, sorry to see that. Hope you heal up quick and proper!
  17. Makes me think back in the days when I was unaware that running was for prey only ... I struggled and stumbled from one kind of shoe to another and still struggled with injuries. I even went to that fellow that cut the telephone books up ... My older boet on the other hand just ran in whatever shoes were on special ... And he was a multi Comrades silver medalist and 15th at Long Tom marathon Unfortunately he had a bad car accident that eventually forced him to stop running else I'm sure he would have had a go at those homemade 'Huarache' running slops even!
  18. Done and dusted now ... the 'gravel wheels' for very light on road duty before anyone gives me gip about the radial spokes 😜
  19. I'm not anal about this stuff like some and I understand their reasoning be it saving money on chains and stuff or keeping their drivetrains clean etc. I love to ride bikes (yes and occasionally build some 😜 ) so my thinking is as long as you do lube often, whatever it is you decide use, and occasionally clean the drivetrain it'll be ok. My regime and yes I'm sure there is fault with it but I'm happy with that is as follows. I lightly lube my chain every time I go out, run the chain backwards and apply lube to the inside, I don't check that there's just a drop on every roller ... I happen to use Squirt but that's just by the by and that I can refill my little bottle at my LBS for a mere 99ZAR. I generally wash my bikes once a week unless it's been extremely muddy, part of that I spray some full strength general purpose cleaner onto the drivetrain and leave it to stand for a few minutes then give it a quick scrub with a brush. Wash the whole bike and good to go again. I go through one small bottle around every 2 months and I ride pretty often so I don't worry too much about the cost of the lube. I'd be interested how others go about it?
  20. Turns out that frame was too small for him ... anyways so moving right along. Got this 26" carbon frame that needed a bit of repair. It's been done. Don't like the look of the fork so I'm 3D printing a spacer to fill that big 'gap'. Big Thys has done his magic on the frame and some of the bits Will have 2 wheelsets, one with MTB tyres and the other with gravel tyres Edit ... 27.5 wheels!
  21. After a few days off because of some personal issues as well as crappy weather on the Highveld it was a lekker ride with Steely Dan doing long ride duty! Not warm out there 🥶
  22. I've clearly been schooled today on pricing and best I just accept that everyone is providing the best price THEY can and be happy ...
  23. IMHO there are very few products today where the price is based on input costs plus a fair profit as was the case many many years ago. Today there's clearly a 'charge the maximum the market will tolerate' strategy. As has been mentioned before cyclists seem for whatever reason to tolerate more than others?
