  1. Never forget to be kind when you have to be critical. That's what my granddad taught me when I was a wee lad. Some could learn a lesson from that on this thread IMHO ... you can make your point without using demeaning terms but hey maybe that's just me
  2. Personally they do irritate the crap out of me for various reasons in both races and socially, however I have decided to just let it be like I do with many other 'social ills' I have a problem with and just get on with my own riding. It is what it is as the cool kids say 😜
  3. *waiting for something new to be said about these luigat vietse* Was going to put up the horse one but it's been overused 😜
  4. As much as I love cycling and watching cycling I don't jump through hoops, VPN's and crap, to watch it ... if it's convenient I'll continue watching. Also having to have I don't know how many different streaming options to be able to watch becomes a tad tedious. As a family we have DSTV, Netflix and Showmax at the moment ... to pay for every additional service is also starting to get out of our reach
  5. On the rare occasion I do take a tyre off I remove what comes out with 'reasonable' effort ... the rest I leave, more puncture protection and my weight problem is certainly not on the bike!
  6. Doesn't get any closer than that to what you're asking?
  7. Got asked yesterday if I could help solve this problem .... a TT bike that normally only has a place to mount an external Di2 battery under the BB. Owner wants to fit an internal battery, just won't fit inside the seat tube and no where else it'll go. Designed this, I always print the 'prototypes' in pink it's cheap 😎 Busy printing the final product for delivery this morning.
  8. Ai mate but it's a fine line between saving your teeth and not slashing a tyre ...
  9. Probably the wrong tool for the job this morning but it's in the bag so to speak ... many of the favoured gravel routes round here starting to look a bit rough
  10. We need to up our game mate! #NotCoolKids
  11. That sign still makes me smile when I pass there 🤣 Up to now I've only ever been able to ride with 2 people on the road 'intuitively', my son and my big boet Dangerous Dan. Riding without having to worry or think about what they'll do, knowing that they ride safe, take their turn when necessary and do nothing stupid ... well now I can certainly add my good mate @Pikey to that list that's for sure!
  12. So Saturday while ambling along on my gravel bike the front wheel suddenly went flat ... surprised to find the tubeless valve had 'pulled through' the rim, decided to summon a team car. None were immediately available so while waiting for the nearest one I decided to see what I could do. Pulled it out back through the top and checked through my little 'bag of tricks'. Not much there but there was a plastic presta to schrader adapter and for some reason an elastic girls usually use for their ponytails. Forced the adapter over the end of the valve and then wrapped the elastic as sort of a 'seal' around. Put it back in, there was still some sealant in. Tightened it just finger tight hoping for the best. Having broken the bead I couldn't inflate it with a hand pump, I don't carry bombs on training rides. Walked to the One Stop nearby, took the wheel off removed the valve core, inflated with the car tyre pump till the tyre seated. Quickly put the core back, inflated hard as I could with the hand pump. Cancelled the team car and rode the 20k's home no problem, in fact it was still hard when I went to sort it out today.
  13. A proper gravel ride this morning! 'I hope when you decide Kindness will be your guide'
  14. Surely a different distance though?
  15. You have to draw the line somewhere .... bloody hell, pink shirts, pink socks, pink bike where will it end?
