  1. Not cycling related but my wife had a heart attack 12/12/2019 ... She was a lifetime smoker, both her parents died from heart related disease. Having seen the devastating effect it had on our kids, grandchildren, family and friends she vowed there and then to stop and hasn't touched a cigarette since then thankfully! She has recovered without any major problems I must add [emoji16]
  2. No worries mate, we all have some or other trigger and your comments in general are 100% valid
  3. I thought the emoji I added ... ag never mind you win
  4. Stoksielalleen is how I usually ride so nothing changes for me ... the very few riders I do with others is not more than 2 or riders anyway If there were to be a lockdown, now that would be a monumental stuff up, indoor training is from the devil and that's a fact! To such an extent I'd rather take my chances with the virus as my mate PJ said to me recently [emoji12]

  7. Do you have a link to the official cancellation of Maluti please?
  8. Received this today, just a heads up ....
  9. Just going to say I sent them a picture of 4 in the bin, 2 mine and 2 from Just Cycles customers that had failed ... a normal tube rolls up small enough and the weight difference is insignificant, for me anyway
  10. I replaced the 29" rigid fork on my Jamis with a 26" one, looks way better and more 'correct', I don't feel so upright and more comfortable ... Hasn't changed the handling or anything so much that I can notice.
  11. Am I the only one not really a fan of 'gravel bars'? I run standard bars on both my gravel bikes and yes I have tried gravel bars, wide and not so wide .... Don't like them
  12. I told them to come their pictures with pleasure .... still have some they never fetched, told them to get lost with their threatening letters
  13. I have 2 sets of wheels ... The ones in the previous photo have 42mm gravel tyres mounted and I used those at SouthXSouthEast, this set has 38mm slicks (not tubeless but I run them tubeless) and I use them for most rides! Often ride out to Vaal Marina and back (+-200k's) on these, mostly gravel roads and they work a charm! 12 000+ kilometres on this bike as a gravel bike, used it as a single speed rigid before that...
  14. Done thousands and thousands of K's on this bike!
  15. That's correct ... some more work being done on the XCO route at the moment. I can't ride most of it but still had an absolute blast on it with Wendell this morning! Will post an elevation pic a bit later today ....
  16. Yes .... As long as its red, red bikes are always faster!
  17. Contemplating what makes a 'gravel friendly' route ... came to the conclusion that the 'litmus test' was you could ride all the way not having to get off but after that?
  18. Is it possible to get a cage of any kind that doesn't 'destroy' bottles? I'm assuming you mean scratch and make them look shabby as opposed to falling apart .... In my experience all the cages I have, several different types and 2 different side entry specifically, make new bottles look shabby within the first ride but I've just learnt to live with it. That's road and MTB BTW
  19. Holding up the illegal drivers in the emergency lane up Klipriver, taxi AND others, unintentionally and getting the driver's in the left hand lane 'shooting' (as my grandson Josua calls hooting) and waving .... priceless [emoji41]
  20. I can identify with that ... Last time I 'danced' they called the police, thought a fight had broken out!
  21. Jacquie Phelan Quote: “Refrain from throwing your bicycle in public. It shows poor upbringing.”
  22. I'm sure the e-bike police will be here any minute to take umbrage of what y'all are saying about those poor 'assisted' riders ....
  23. Graham W is also the same guy I refer to as Grumpy, he is an all round good guy, knowledgable and always helpful! Good on you Grumps [emoji41]
  24. I never get tired of being out riding as the sun rises ... That's over the 'Brackendowns flats' ...
