  1. Eish, this is not nice. Well you never know, perhaps you still toe the starting line!
  2. Have a look at the latest video, this is nuts! Respect https://www.redbull.com/int-en/projects/ryan-sandes-great-himalaya-trail
  3. And talking about contenders.... Whoever wants to win Comrades, will have to beat this spider woman!
  4. Have been looking for anything on her everywhere, but she is in hiding! Really holding thumbs for her! I think her target will definitely not be Omtom, but Comrades this year.
  5. Omtom in 18 days, really looking forward to this... On the contender subject. If this girl is improving on her Valentia marathon time she is more of a contender than I previously rated her already! https://www.instagram.com/p/BgOB3_PF7Vy/?taken-by=gerdarun
  6. OK guys, hands up on all who said this? Well done on the race Frosty, excellent first 10k
  7. Agreed. It is still the best option for us as well. These kind of crazy changes just leaves a sour taste...
  8. They totally moved the aim from being more active and healthy to spending more money on their products, that is all. And not what it is suppose to be IMHO.
  9. Youtube Ross Tucker/Two oceans videos. He has a few nice ones. Unfortunately the Adidas detail ones, showing the route and driving the route on a split screen, is removed from youtube... Luckily I downloaded them before the removal. Edit: It looks like he uploaded his own version of it! Some appetiser. Comrades is in a league of it's own, but this race is special!!!
  10. Just got off the phone with Momentum Multiply as I try to reset my Multiply Money Card PIN to my own preferred PIN code. I sms as instructed but just do not receive anything back. This is according to the call centre agent because I have a sms bundle on my cellphone contract. I need to get another prepaid sim card, do the cell number change through them, change the pin, then change my cell number back to my own contract number. Or I need to load airtime onto my contract phone, but how will my phone choose whether to use my sms bundle or the airtime to send the sms when I send it? My mother cannot get safe days one her Samsung S4 mini (too old) or her new Lenova tablet (activates and everything, but does not pick up safe days). My sister in law can also not get her safe days working on her Apple SE. I still cannot get Multiply money active for my wife as we have one internet profile for our accounts. I need to get her, her own internet profile (at the additional cost) to be able. Did Momentum actually think these changes through before implementing them this year as well as actually testing them? Because it does not look and feel like they did !!!!!
  11. The real hurt in this case starts at 42 as you exit Hout Bay and the level of that hurt depends on how you handled the 6kms going down into Hout Bay... Apart from that, pull the handbrake up a nudge of two from the start. Adrenaline is rushing and it is a lovely "flat/down run" to Chappies, which you will regret even more come Hout Bay if you went out to fast here. Rather enjoy the scenery and the first one experience here, the pain will come.
  12. Talking about the trail crazies of this world... This has started yesterday. A "slow 70km first day". Standing at 6,700m elevation after day 1.5. https://www.instagram.com/p/BfyaY5JjYb4/?taken-by=ryansandes https://www.redbull.com/int-en/projects/ryan-sandes-great-himalaya-trail/live-tracker
  13. Some more perspective. Shaun is 56 years old.
  14. Perhaps this might be of some extra reference as well. https://www.facebook.com/buks.vanheerden.1/posts/1183694585099094?pnref=story
  15. Talking about mileage. You lot are falling behind, you will have to up the schedule!
  16. Remember it is down, you might be OK for the BR even with 850kms...
  17. Agreed... Indications are that we will also be doing less than last years 850km, but currently lesser km's, but more quality outings are definitely reaping improvement and rewards and we are staying injury (and itb) free thus far. Jan 18-134 vs Jan 17-156 Feb 18-123 vs Feb 18-178 So we are already 77kms less than what we were last year at the end of Feb, but we have broken every distances' PR this year and no injury issues.
  18. I seriously do not know what wannabee league I am in then... Jan - May 2017 ended up a total of 835km. That included a 2/3 week injury layoff. Our max week was 68km, that included Two oceans ultra. BTW, that was our first comrades and we started training the morning after comrades 2016.

  21. Not as much hurt as this... https://www.instagram.com/p/Bfnf9S4Dg9u/?tagged=comrades2018
  22. Here on the snail side of the scale ours is: 10 - 5:08/km 21 - 5:40/km 42 - 6:32/km
  23. Just curious... The first is a neutral running shoe and the second a light stability?
  24. Search my content for my recent posts on it in this thread.
  25. Have I mentioned that last year with our first Omtom, we ended up at the bottom of little chappies behind the 6:30 bus. Quickly identifying how the driver negotiated the climbs and obviously knowing the route, we stuck with them. When I had a look again we were at the top of Chappies, nicely negotiated, what a blessing for us on the maiden voyage... hahaha That said, I waived farewell to that same buss steamrolling down the other side of Chappies...
