  1. tbh i would go for a more capable bike than that...the world is your oyster.
  2. i Can say this, stopped using sports drinks during rides-switched to grape juice, nougat, a bite every 20mins or so mixed with two safari trail bars a packet of nuts and water to thirst during long rides/race efforts and the king of all-Pacing your efforts...papya and beetroot also work wonders for me.dont know why? I get the whole epic thing- being to pushed to even think of preparing food but to me i feel we are being brainwashed by companies into thinking that what they offer is what we need. same as a certain wheel debate.
  3. That is really true-the selfish arrogant part- i was thinking the same thing this morning. Although im not against it and the fact that cycling is growing at a phenominal rate-it has become the new golf and every second tom dick and harry with their mine/ I /me k@k attitude seems to want a piece of it these days.because its the hip and happening thing to do.
  4. just for the record its Gracia.
  5. AHHH Mosselbay! used to live there...miss the long rides i used to do from there on the R102 towards little brak to boteliers kop up to friemersheim up to the contours then to the signal tower and back again.
  6. I agree with you to the fully mcguyver.
  7. simple-just ask for a refund.
  8. I Think you should buy a Donkey that way everyone is satisfied?
  9. when you say short, does it refer to rides under a hour?if so theres no need to take a bottle...just train yourself off it for a bit and in no time one bottle will be enough even for a two hour ride.
  10. especially at the botom of the down tube...ditch the bottle man get a backpack glad to see there's still people riding the good old wheelsize. yes i said it!
  11. yes that is true, there is a whole list of units that garmin no longer supports and the closing of the mt edgecomb and cpt branches is because of Garmin Sa's new business model-unfortunately for you and i (also have a edge 305) this falls outside of their new model.so wont be supported no more...I might be wrong but i kind of heard it straight out of the horses mouth.
  12. Peter And Gift are both top guys have sorted me out more than once, its just a pitty Garmin SA decided to close the office over there and apparently also CPT.
  13. just so we clear...that not me but if i see him i'll have him contact you.
  14. not to the extent of 42t front 36t back though and the front chain ring has never made this noise...Checked for any drag first... and i have not yet grown hair on my teeth for one of those real bikes Yes only started on saturday while out on my weekly red router. Just to clarify guys and meant light hearted, i have been riding for quite a while and know the do's and dont's wrt chain lines and gearing so no gongmesh this is not the case that was the first thing i checked.
  15. thanks , il keep that in mind. its definitely a mechanical sound. so either BB(have had two recent wet rides) or lockring. ill check it out in the morning.
  16. Shishcabab!!!that bike looks seriously lambada!
  17. WOW Thanks for the info. yet the sound is not caused by the chain rubbing the fd. it happens when i put pressure on the pedals going up a hill...
  18. Just to check if we on the same page. when i mean lower gear it is middle front 36t in back-(larger mechanical advantage) I dont know about the lock ring how will i know?
  19. HAHA no guy no this is middle ring front uphill kind of gearing stuff.
  20. Live just down the road...wish the route could be extended with more single track.
  21. Need some advice please When in the lowest three gears on my rear sproket The following noise happens ggrrrtt grrrtt grrrtt- the chain was cleaned and properly lubed this morning before going out to ride. I was thinking it might be the bb?but why then only in the low gears? any advice will be appreciated.

  24. Might be able to get you a brand new one for R3499. just send me a reminder pm on wednesday. The edge does not need a speed sensor as it has a gps that will give you speed. the cadence is normally included in the "bundle" package. the "normal' package comes with Heart-rate mt only. I am out of Town as of tomorrow will be back Wednesday night. and will give you the answer Thursday if interested.
  25. "This magazine will appeal to more established riders who take part in multi-stage races – the majority of this market!" So if i dont ride "multi-stage races" its not for me?isnt that like all the other publications in SA anyway? MEH...
