  1. Got mine from buycycle.co.za
  2. My go to gloves, FOX dirtpaws, excellent quality Paid round R300 for mine, will buy them again if one day they decide to conk out. Even wash them every 3rd week to add to the wear factor, and still no signs of going. Had them for 3 years now. http://www.mouthymimes.com/glove6.jpg
  3. I have Saint BB's on my bikes, still going strong, and I weigh 105kg and ride on the rougher side of trails, but not full on DH. As for weight, have no Idea what they weigh.
  4. Something sweet may fit in here sometime:
  5. that last statement voids everything they said before, I like trek, but wont take it that far
  6. lol, last time I check a Renthal stem only comes in 50mm and 40mm... your options for fitting 50/50, haha
  7. I take it its one of those fancy tri suits you're speaking about, of which I have no knowledge But, if your wetsuit was made in SA, chances are you'll be able to send it in, and they'll repair it professionally for free or a small fee of like R30. I did this with my Rabitech/Coral opencell wetsuit and my normal Neophrene REEF wetsuit. sometimes they'll eve redo loose stitching while its there. Awesome service from these guys: http://www.coralwetsuits.co.za/wetsuits/
  8. has all the parts you REALLY want, not the generic stuff you get when companies buying/contracting in bulk
  9. This bike just looks like it needs to be ridden
  10. Lets refrain from calling it planetx, onone are onone's thats the end of it, might upset some of us,haha
  11. Here is a proper slack setup, mondraker putting no limits on how far they go, with their whole design process backing slackness, like it's a new wheelsize, lol. Just thinking having setup like this, will definitely handle/be different to the old steep setup. But these bikes are not designed with climbing in mind. http://ep1.pinkbike.org/p4pb7883133/p4pb7883133.jpg http://www.primussports.com/IMG/jpg/Mondraker-Zenith-Amael_LR.jpg http://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2012/07/SBOUE160-640x426.jpg
  12. Star nuts are like 10bucks and takes 5sec to knock in, no biggie, as for the housing, you should probably have that
  13. Too add some to the list, Dialdbikes also heve some sweet Commencal's and Nukeproof Mega and dont worry about parts, CRC has tons of spares for these bikes, not that you'll need them http://dialdbikes.co.za/bikes/mountain-bikes/?subcats=Y&features_hash=V54 http://dialdbikes.co.za/nukeproof-mega-am-comp-bike-rockshox-monarch-2013.html
  14. Those Remedy's look awesome and you dont see a lot of them.
  15. Jip, have the 6.6, with lyric on. With the trek it feel much "flatter" the fork.... But i may have the suspision that the lyric was much to big for the fuel ex9 frame, which gave it that feel. Think the trek is rated for 120mm fork, haha
  16. I dont even have a quick release, allenkey bolt, seat set as low as possible, except when im on my way home after ride on tar and im tired, ill put seat up, haha. Initial reason was just to get newer frame... And most new frames claim the wonder of new slack HA's. went Intense-->Trek fuel 2012-->back to old intense
  17. Since there's s wheelsize buzz, i thought i'd post this up. I cant seem to get used to a slack head angle. Why all the fuss? I had a frame with a Slack angle for about 3 weeks and then changed back to my old bike. With the front wheel so far (not to big distance) infront of my handlebar, it felt certain things like bunnyhopping and cornering were affected very badly. Is the slack headangle mainly orientated for racing? where you try and go as fast as possible, and not for making bike more versatile?
  18. Just buy a bike which looks nice Im 1.87m, weigh 105kg.... And I ride an XS 26" dual sus, ride what you want, not what someone says.
  19. Ag nee... Poor people new to mtb is going to eat this up.... And then they going to come up to me on the trail and tell me my 26" Intense is to small for me. As for the teenager part.... 10years at university, might be some truth in that, haha
  20. If its your friend... R4000 if not less.... and dont give him that shock, haha, just problems
  21. Canfield Brothers drop into crankset market, some sweet looking new cranks: http://singletrackworld.com/2014/02/canfield-brothers-drop-into-crankset-market/ http://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2014/02/Canfield-Brothers-Cranks-and-MRP-Bling-Ring-640x426.jpg http://singletrackworld.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/1/files/2014/02/Canfield-Brothers-Cranks-and-Spider-640x426.jpg
  22. its a lot! better/cheaper bet will be to build a Street/DJ/Park bike, can be used in same way, but if your really amped, go for it. Pound is also extremely expensive at the moment and Tarty's shipping alone you're looking at R1500+
  23. Haven't done an event that doesn't have a lekker koue bier. My only choice, haha
  24. This made me laugh, ja he sometimes takes a while.... but its the only bike shop I go to, the others lost the plot somewhere on what mountain biking(or any cycling) is about.
