  1. A typical plan goes like this: I want to ride on these days, what would you like to do on these days - ok, so, I'll start early enough to be home in time. Calendarise races or events you want to attend well in advance (make sure they in her calendar too); as and when you enter them remind her and confirm that you have paid and entered. Emphasize that you will not be riding on a given day when you decide that, it could be a rest day, injury recovery day etc, so that she can plan in advance. If she has a hobby or sport support her, but ask that she communicates her intentions in advance too.
  2. You're screwed, accept it. Keep the *** to a minimum by: Planning ahead. Consider her when planning. Try and involve the family (sometimes). Have "no cycling, family only" days.
  3. Mankele is an awesome place to ride, but can anybody confirm what they have to keep small kiddies entertained?
  4. Did one this weekend. It was pretty dull, but not as bad as I expected
  5. Done. I agree with Maxxis that specific threads should be created for specific rides, but if you just want to chat with other chilled and relaxed riders, or let others know where you will be riding and maybe hook up with somebody for a ride, or ask questions related to then welcome.
  6. Changed the name of this thread = Fixed
  7. Shut up and ride
  8. Some people will never be fast. Maybe they overweight, have a prosthetic leg or just like to ride slowly. There are also people joining the sport all the time, so logically it will always have a reason to exist.
  9. What happened to the slow and unfit JHB thread?
  10. Use the pic and write an article for the local rag?
  11. On the topic of kids riding without helmets, I know that there are schools in CT that make the kids stand with their helmets on for the duration of assembly (and you know how embarrassing that is for a teen) if they are seen riding without them; even if seen on a weekend. Would be cool if more schools did stuff like this.
  12. Im also riding with M240's
  13. I have some, but have nothing to compare them to recently. They are more comfortable than the old Diadora's I had, and otherwise have had no problems. I tighten the buckles as tight as they go, and I have had the odd off, and they are still strong.
  14. Very cool, but the kids in the pics don't look like they come from homes that can't afford a helmet in the same way that people in Diepsloot can't.
  15. Sheesh, some higher grade calendaring needed here.
  16. Next weekend seems open for me.
  17. Joe, Nofear and Cav, I'm figuring out some route details to do concrete strip and down Daggapad for my next ride there. I just need to find a date in my calendar, but feel free to ride along.
  18. Im guessing this is going to have plenty hills to slog up.
  19. Good on ya for coming to have a look and make a comment
  20. Love technical descending
  21. Just how steep and long is the climb?
  22. My reasons are, tint, lens strength for stone impact, coverage etc. My everyday glasses are TAG avant garde, so not great for riding.
  23. I saw a post on another thread not so long ago where somebody mentioned this sad culture of being critical and overly concerned about what other people think; and it couldn't be more true. People should stop judging or pigeon holing people and just get on with their lives, do what you want it doesn't really matter what somebody else thinks.
  24. If you go Oakley, also check that they are not the ones made here in SA, as they are not made by Oakley, but a cloned process. They must get them done in Ireland for our region.
  25. If you like the brand then show your support; its simple really. As HandH said, brand loyalty is a funny thing, but what seems even funnier to me is people being more conscious of what they are wearing and what others think than of loyalty to something they appreciate. Personally Im not afraid to show my support, and you may or may not have noticed my Ghost bib short pant on Sunday.
