  1. Happened to my OH as well as a few ppl on facebook (sleekgeek group so everyone's kinda in Vitality or Multiply) It's a known issue.
  2. Makes my evening 27km jaunt seem pitiful by comparison... LOL.
  3. Yeah the kratos 2.45 seems to be the one to go for. Also may be that you got the good Enduro Dual compound, whereas I can't see what compound is on his tyres. Also looks like the 2.25 version...
  4. How the hell were those moderated? No flesh showing at all... Just ppl kissing. Are you being homohomophobic? EDIT: I know you're not... Just don't know how someone could have reported those images...
  5. They're the new Rubena tyres. They went through a re-brand last year, and are a headline sponsor for the UCI XCO World Cup. Apparently they have a 100 day sidewall guarantee... Against cuts. So take this opportunity to test that and take it back. The rear tyre is definitely for hardpack or sandy conditions, but it's a low volume tyre. Should have good longevity given the hard rubber compound they're using. Kratos is dubbed as their Trail / Enduro tyre, but it largely depends on which compound & casing width you have as to what the grip characteristics are. What compound is it? If it's the CRX then that's why... harder faster rolling compound.
  6. given that they're probably not looking at grip. As long as it finishes the race, and has more grip than a crossmark or a small block 8 (also not a very high bar) then it'll be "highly recommended"

  8. yeah, the different pressure readings underwater would have messed with it. Also - remember, you're paddling. How many strokes did you complete during the sesh? Each stroke may have registered a change.
  9. LOL. TBH I tried a Jeffsy niner at Paarl one day. Had a couple of runs late in the day to see what all the fuss was about. DAMN, that thing is fast. It's really fun, but it felt SUPER taut where my Reign just didn't give a feck. Felt like it wanted to pop off everything and anything and just have a jol, whereas the reign just wanted me to go bigger and harder (which I'm still trying to do) The reign was faster, no doubt, and I had more control through the rough stuff on my tank, but I can see the appeal. For me though, it just felt too... trail bikey. It was capable, yes. But it was on the edge. As a complement to the reign it would be perfect for places like the Tygerberg trails or under someone who loves the ups just as much as the downs. If the 27 is just like that, but in a 650, then it'll also be a rad complementary bike. And I'll be able to switch wheels.
  10. "An adept climber and a fun loving descender, the Jeffsy 27 felt like the culmination of both the Jeffsy 29 and indeed, the Capra, when confronting a variety of wildly contrasting terrain types. While distinctions must be made between the Jeffsy 27 and the Capra, the versatility to tackle aggressive terrain will suit those of us who spend most of their time extracting the fun from the kind of trails where a Capra would be nothing short of overkill, but similarly, like to push personal boundaries from time to time"
  11. The way I read it is that the Capra is the Enduro Bruiser / Tank. Give it anything and it'll just take it on regardless. Steamrolling over everything in its path. The bicycle equivalent of Tito Ortiz. Not great on the ups, but when it gathers steam - look out. The Jeffsy 27, on the other hand, is the bouncing, leaping form of Connor McGregor. Calculated, light and precise. But punches above its weight class. Goes damn fast up and down. The mid-rut line changer & rock hopper, vs the DILLIGAF get out my way kinda ride.
  12. hahahahahahaha! I remember you deliberating about that last time. How times have changed, eh?
  13. and unlike the differences we talked about last year (giant price vs spaz price and the Reign Adv 1's hike to ~ 75k from 50k) these ones can't be explained away with exchange rate fluctuations.
  14. dude, if it was 30k here.....WOW. Even with the 15% duty on the full price, you're at a ticket price of R 34k. The price shown there incl VAT in countries apart from the States. Notsodirect sales model.
