  1. If it's investigative, and you're on a plan without savings, then you pay the cost of it. If they admit you, they pay the cost of the admission (bed and breakfast) but the scan is still for your account unless you have day-to-day benefits. There will still be a co-payment though, and if you have available MSA it will come from there. if you don't have any MSA, then it comes from your pocket. Standard operating procedure for all medical aids except Momentum, who has coverage for investigative scans on all but their lowest echelon plans (the ones with salary bands) Profmed, Fedhealth, Bonitas, Discovery etc. All have that distinction - which is why I recommend a plan with savings unless clients have the cash available to pay for those MRI scans themselves...
  2. Then you should just have had to pay the co-payment, and the rest would have come from the risk portion of your med aid. That would have been the same regardless of whether you were admitted or not, as it was a purely investigative scan.
  3. no, if you're on a Core plan that won't cut it. It has to be part of a procedure ie: We know you have cancer, we're booking you in for it but we want to get an extent of the disease. Or if you're in a car crash and admitted for that, and go for a scan. If you're admitted JUST for a scan, no dice. Momentum are the only ones who have cover for purely investigative scans on their basic hospital plans without MSA. ALL other med aids will not cover investigative MRI / CT / XRAY scans unless you have day-to-day cover, and even then there will be a co-payment.
  4. do you have a plan with MSA? If not, then that's why. Investigative scans aren't covered unless they form part of an admission for a procedure.
  5. except he's got flats... from my (limited) reading, the AM45's don't particularly like flat pedals.
  6. My almost 4 year old getting his pedal on. 1 month till his birthday. Wanted to ride the enduro with me today! https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10156867276250133&id=712015132
  7. Was talking to someone about them this morning. Apparently they grip like stink
  8. Simonsberg Enduro. 27km and 900 odd meters of climbing. Got my 3000 points
  9. Tbh you won't go wrong with saints. Best bang for buck at the moment.
  10. These http://reviews.mtbr.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Kore-Rivera-900x600.jpg
  11. No, there's a newer one. Slimmer... but no, just the outside ones that matter. And whatever you do, PLEASE get ones with pins that go all the way through. Otherwise rocks are gonna munch them left right and centre. Busy battling with that myself. Pins getting lost every ride.
  12. My personal choice for R1,500 would be either the chromag low profile ones (forget the name) spank spikes or the new Kore pedals. Saints are great as well, and at a lower price point.
  13. Hmmm... local 35mm clamp availability isn't as advanced as online, afaik. I think Kore have one, and I know DaBomb has one that can change between 35 & 31.8 with a provided shim. Otherwise - go to bike-discount.de or bike-components.de or CRC and browse... The Kore Repute M35 is the one you're looking for. CRC is outta stock, and it's the cheapest by quite some margin.
  14. oh, it is. Even have the okay from wiffie if we get the cash. Long term plan... Of course, a full holiday with our friends in Canada and maybe the states afterwards will also be on the cards!
  15. And you're in luck - that's the FreeRide Casing, which is their toughest. 27.5 & 29 don't get brought in with that casing, and have to get teh normal 60tpi and paperthin 120tpi
  16. It's actually cheaper, but with less drop. 120mm vs 125 & 150mm. But R 2,199 vs about R 2,800 or so
