  1. Were you a part of Club Vitality when you entered and paid? No? There you go. That they had a presence for the members of the club who rode the Argus has nothing to do with whether they were entitled to a discount on a race that was entered before the product was launched. Nor does it mean that the event was not included on the calendar to show that it would be there for future iterations, and you would get a discount if you entered THIS year, when you ARE a member of the Club Vitality offering.
  2. That millennium falcon set... Size - 84cm x 56cm x 21cm. Model It is recorded to be the largest set ever produced by LEGO, measuring 33" (84 cm) long by 22" (56 cm) wide and 8.3" (21 cm) tall. It has been designed to be to scale with theminifigures, unlike most other Ultimate Collector's Series sets. The model is very intricate in detail with many special SNOT(Studs Not On Top) techniques involved in the front "mandibles", mimicking Star Wars technology and architecture. Upon its release in 2007, the UCS Falcon was the largest LEGO set ever produced (a title later given to the10189 Taj Mahal) with more than 5000 pieces and a 311-page instruction manual. The first copies of this set sold through LEGO.com received a special first edition certificate of authenticity.
  3. This is definitely on my wishlist. Existing catalogue one is about R 3.500 but this is just so much more detailed... And expensive. At a min of $ 4,500 http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/Nt4AAOSwiCRUeDda/$_57.JPG
  4. and the comment by the princess was priceless. "If you save the world, you can do me in my a55hole?"
  5. Bloody hell, Tumbles. You're making my wallet grumble in anticipation of impending swipeage!
  6. Kingsman. Just watched it. Brilliant. Just the right mix of humour and action.
  7. SHE DID WHAT!!!? Divorce material, that. Or, a permanent pink slip. Argument with the wife: Her: You *&*&@! How dare you a: come home drunk; b: look at that woman; c: Buy that for yourself; d: Virtually any other argument in the book You: Lego. Instant win.
  8. These are some of the ones I can remember owning. Had a lot more than this, but more than half of it was given away after I stopped using it... EDIT: Actually still have bits of all of them. From a full cubic metre of blocks, all I got given when I moved down to CT again is 5 half-filled ice-cream containers. Miffed.
  9. It is cheaper here. Marvellous... HAMLEY'S!!! Loved that place when I was there. Yes, I am a big kid at heart.
  10. Nope. I enjoyed it, but the cinema's audio let us down. Couldn't make out half the dialogue, and the masterpiece of a soundtrack was constantly distorted. Really need to watch it on the TV at home now. With MY sound.
  11. For an action-sequence over the top explanation of it, have a look at the comparative videos showing a 650+ tyre and a normal 29er tire going over a block of wood. 650+ tyre just soaks it up and carries on, whereas the 29er can't deform enough and deflects a bit, which causes the suspension to compress, and robs the bike of forward momentum. Bear in mind that this is a large-scale representation of what happens on the trail, and the multiple undulations will have a smaller effect on the tyre's behaviour - but one that adds up over time.
  12. Longer answer. The increased width of the tire allows you to run a lower pressure, which then allows the tire to absorb more of the irregularities on the trail without having multiple small rebounds which slow the bike down incrementally. The effect of a wider contact patch is minimal.
  13. Bloody hell. So that's the "death of the marvel universe" then?
  14. add reader's digest to that mix, and you have me. Only got to get the Marvel stuff on rare occasions. Hence the pull of it...
