  1. Illegal detours around non technical sections dude. They're there purely due to peoples' increasing disregard for rules and regs, as well as their total inability to skill up to actually ride the sections. Not only does it detract from the trail that has been built, but it increases erosion as well. If some snotkop sees a section that seems to "technical" (rock garden in Mamba comes to mind) then they will create a divert where one does not exist instead of trying to learn how to do the specific section.
  2. Clint got some Spez shoes and the 520's...
  3. yep. Especially when you're late for a wedding and forget how far it is to the venue...
  4. Dude, a manual needs to be done when you're out of the seat. Always. Wheelies are under power, which means you can do them (recommended to, actually) whilst you are sitting down. A manual (no, not the book) is done whilst free-wheeling. Easiest way to do it is just to practice, practice & practice. What Slick said is spot on. It takes time, but you can feel it when you're doing it right. You're almost in that "twilight zone" where you're semi weightless. Get that down pat before you try to do a proper bunnyhop, so that you can at least control the backwards motion first. As Slick said - grass / soil - helmet - flats - camelbak - full finger gloves. You will fall. But just carry on doing it, and you'll get there. It's not a quick fix, unfortunately... No magic powder here!
  5. Nice, dude... That's a fair bit of bakkie right there!
  6. I checked the tracking, then phoned up the Customs guys in JHB (where everything comes in) and asked them where it was going to. I then phoned the sorting department to check on arrivals (every day) and got all the bits and pieces at the distribution centre and the local PO. A fair bit of PT, but it's necessary. Otherwise you just wait and wait and wait.
  7. THey generally send to your local PO. I know that when I ordered my lights from them, they took quite a while to get here (just over a month I think) but then they were being released by China and so on. Yes - their tracking system is bollocks. But it works. A little bit. It does at least let you know when it's in SA...
  8. who are you trying to kid? It's a Honda!
  9. oh, snap. with R 130k I'd take the Tigger straight to SAC and do a conversion on that sucka!
  10. what car is that, if i may ask? Mine still have 3 years to go. Meh. Can't wait for them to cease though. I plan to have my current car for a looooong time.
  11. you're thinking of the Caddy... which, if taken in consideration with the likes of the Renault twingo, peugeot partner and so on is not as overpriced as you think...
  12. mergemod - please merge... https://community.bikehub.co.za/topic/117719-silverback-oakland-vs-giant-boulder/page__pid__1694540?do=findComment&comment=1694540
  13. and the wind is pumping it in CT today. Getting closer & closer to pulling the trigger on that IDT...
  14. Hairy, love those pieces. I forget what the group is called, but they have some awesome stuff on there...
  15. There are a lot of mineshafts out that way...
  16. Hmmm... difficult one. I'd go for the one in better condition, and the one with the better specs. I don't know much about those 2 bikes, so can't comment at the mo without doing a bit of research. Silverback is a strong brand, and If I remember correctly, the Boulder has a bit of a heffer of a frame (it's heavy) that may be the biggest difference... Oh - and if it's for your daughter, get the pretty one.
  17. LOL... No lycra. Wish we had more of these over here...
  18. Not enough travel. DH forks go up to 200mm travel. Lefties are far too small for that..
  19. Yeah, sorry i couldn't join you or the build day... Meh
  20. If God didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?
  21. all threads... seems to be a prevailing problem.
  22. Erm... bunnyhop = something bigger than, say, 15cm/30cm?
