My Merida came with that Saddle as well, I think, and it was very uncomfortable for me too. It gave me bad saddle sores, swapped to Fizik Tundra - the bomb! You might just not be used to it though, may take a few rides to get into it. Also, your bib/chamois will make a difference too!

My dad and I both have Garmin 800s and we both recorded 1300m of ascent.

I love Maynards Fruity Chews. I have to limit when I buy it, because if I buy it it won't last more than a day or two. When i'm training hard I get serious sugar cravings, but seeing as I don't struggle with weight I don't mind eating them. Although I know they are not good for one at all, I think I compensate for it in other ways which I won't mention because I will get attacked

800m ascent no way. I got 1300m ascent at 68km. I think only 18 finished the 70km, not sure how many entered. It was stupidly wet, I never thought id be able to ride through such deep water!!(Came upto my bottle cages...) I don't know where the 11% single track was, maybe all the times they asked us to ride through a field with no path at all haha. Was a rough race and my body was not feeling great, was not easy!

Geco cycles Durbanville can get stock and so can Flandria in Stellenbosch. Don't know if they keep stock so maybe call them up

Very nice looking bike. The 80mm Fork will be interesting... They should bring it out in a lower spec though, in the 25k range I think.

Flagged is when someone tags your ride as illegitimate(almost wanna say illegal, but the anti-stravists will have a fit) and then strava removes it. The function is there for ppl who forget their devices on while driving, or maybe the odd 1 or 2 that decide to be funny and go do a section in a car or motorbike. I think Strava is awesome and it has helped me train a lot. I attack those hills nearly as hard as I would in a race, which is something I struggle to do on my own. It's also very cool for tracking your progress.

Horrible race... The worst for me was that they just posted the profile from the 2012 Epic Prologue (or so I assume), and didn't even bother to mention to us that they'll be cutting out the last climb (about 6km and 250m ascent). Thinking we still had a climb to finish off, I kept some energy sitting on the wheel of the two guys infront of me up the (now last) climb to the top of contermans, and then when we sprinted down the road to meerendal, I saw everyone stopped and was very confused. Not to mention a car turned infront of me while the 3 of us were sprinting down the road and I had to slow down completely... R170 for that event is a joke. The trails were awesome, but I live here and can go do it when ever I want.
