  1. Colonel what a laugh....... you are our best promoter of the series.
  2. Yeah.... but what about the top 1000 finishers in the argus.... All classified as 'F' hee hee....... You are all 'gay' according to Organisers.
  3. Some say greener on the other side Land for sale..... 6 storey apartment ; plans free
  4. Slowpoke...... that would be enough to make Fats stay at home..... Nice meeting you and Amatuer. Glad you had a fun ride, and safe at that.
  5. Hey, I can make money selling off the 'used' clothes of Pedal Jnr..... Better ask first!!!!!!!!!!
  6. But where are the COMPLETE results on the WEB???
  7. If the Web Page was updated, it would help a great deal... rather poor show, after so much organisation and hype. Commynications fail once again. Hopefully Carinus will get the Giro right, before taking on CSA.......
  8. Busy wiping my tears.... such a lovely message to read, and know that Greg is awake. I do not know either of you, but wish you and Greg the best for the future. 'When the going gets tough.... the tough get going' God speed.
  9. Nellie, i would join you, but will still be out on the road, whist you lot are enjoying a 'drink'
  10. Popeye.... as these riders are not riding to UCI licence rules... being a 'funride' the Association would need to implement the rule. Who is going to monitor it, as you cannot put a vehicle per group to keep an eye on this. A very good idea, but only the genuine few will stick to it if implemented. Races run for 'Licensed' riders (No Funride) is easy to monitor, as they have referees with them. I like your idea, good thinking.
  11. I am a very new Tndem rider, and certainly know where my place is.... my pilot is experienced, but we DO NOT take chances... both like our skin where it is. How are the cyclists that fell? .... heard from Jnr that it was not a pretty sight, and he actually felt terrible after passing the scene. Hope they are OK.
  12. Lets hope it comes together.... heard yesterdaythat it is still on.... but where do you find this info????? hearsay does not help, and no-one of 'power' can actually confirm. Sad once again for cycling
  13. Hey, We rode over that 'gravel' on the tandem the other weekend. Walked the last bit of gravel, as it was a 'little bumpy' get onto the tar, wipe the wheels and away we go....... 2 minutes later, hit a stone and WHAM a bloody puncture....... it was actually good fun, but a little tender on my bum at the end....... Good for the Giro. They went that way once before, when TR was organising. As for Andrew Mcleans knowing the names on Minolta riders, actually shocked me. I thought he only knew Microsoft.
  14. I believe the WP Officials ( Referees, line officials etc) try to be friendly and polite, and believe me, a lot of abuse and rudeness is taken, but in the heat of a cyclists moment, we tend to look past a lot of it. I do not believe any one of the W P Officals is above anyone, and all try to upkeep the name of the sport as preference and safety uppermost on the day. We have highly qualified Officials, and a lot that are not active.... but everyone pulls together, as the cyclists deserve it. Payment is nice, covers pertrol, and is seen as reward for a job we love.
  15. Have taken bikes often on Kulula... just wheeled on, boxed, and bike bag. Never had a problem. If using a soft bag, just remember to secure the front folks, so they do not take strain if something is loaded onto the bag. Kulula Rulz......
  16. De-al Cycling is going to hold a charity MTB jol around Killarney to raise funds for this good cause...... Keep Wednesday 21st March free.... its a holiday, so NO excuses. Off Road at Killarney.... exciting stuff. All 29 Argus x2 are gonna be invited to ride.......... and Midge and I. More details later. Spread the word.
  17. Mail Me.... I know of an entry for you. sharona@panman.co.zapedal2007-02-01 01:18:06
  18. Well done Donks...... Have pledged already, but to Uwe..... still the same cause though. I am gonna battle to do one lap, so certainly admire all of you 2xArgus 'bodies'.
  19. I am in 'social' tandems, and provisional start is 6.30..... think that is somehow wrong.... was told our group goes around 8.30....... Anyone know?
  20. Peter, All the very best for the future, may you grow your business in leaps and bounds. Thank you for all your unselfish and continious support with our events. Pedal & Midge
  21. Too some 7k is good, to others well what more can I say.........as Chunky says, the ride is the priority, then the salary as you establish.
  22. At the end of the day, they are still working... so should be earning a salary like us, but in some cases, are they justified? I do not think is is fair is actually discuss/print their salary, as it is nothing to do with us Hubbers....... Their office is just a little larger than ours........
  23. Gasant...... how was your race? C U Wednesday.
  24. Under the heading of TH Resigns, I would never have thought to find a whole speel on CT teams....... my 2c worth. Yes, I do agree that JHB holds more for a youngster who wants to go places with their cycling, but..... they need to WANT it badly enough to survive..... then Europe is the next step, and again, tough going, but necessary, and only then do I believe one is ready to accept cycling or 'job' as a career. (Could take three years, and a lot of 'Family Sponsorship). Cape Town did produce some of the best riders in the Country.... James. Jeremy, Daniel, Jamie, Tiaan,Travis A, just to name a few, but one common denominator is that they all went through the Schools Academy, and coached by Willie E and John..... I truly believe that the gap now left in our cycling Province stems from these two factors. U16 and Junior Tours were always dominated by WP, as was Eric v Enter, but not so any more,,,, a huge gap is now seen. Please I know there are a lot of young talented riders here, and I see them in action often, but they just do not stand out enough to catch the eye of a 'JHB Selector'. CW Jnr was in Jhb as mentioned, rode for Microsoft, also went overseas, and is now back home... I do not know the reason, but at least he is still cycling, and not lost from the sport. Believe me, the parents also need 'guts and determination' just to be strong enough to stand by and 'assist' mentally, emotionally and financially, if your child is going this route....... Been there, done that, and my Reward.....(5 years away from home)..... A 'Konica Minolta' cycling top to train in..... Thanks Pedal Jnr (T) x Hang in there Capies, and you can get up into bigger Teams, as there are a lot of talented youngsters hungry, but need the guidance....... (Academy etc). I see you often, and know you are capable of going places. Now for the blastings......
  25. Politics are killing cycling........ but a resignation will not make anyone stand up and check out the situation, some other person will just step into the vacant space. TH maybe has tried and tried, and given up, like most others out there. I always used to wonder why 'Moms and Dads' left cycling when there children moved up in the age groups.... found out for myself.... POLITICS & POWER and nothing else matters.... certainly not cycling.
