  1. Hey Donks.... Fame at last,,,, just quietly waiting on the side to spring... he has now sprung.... Keep going......
  2. Fanie, Welcome to the wonderful world of Killarney..... never got to meet you, but so pleased you made it. Next week come meet me, as you get a 'product prize for effort OK....... Yeah, wind was hectic, but has been FAR Worse....... a good training partner. Support from the cyclists has been fantastic, and we are so proud of you ALL.... thanks for the support.
  3. Best wishes, and a speedy recovery.
  4. Windbreaker.... I can only smile...... have myself got onto the back of a tandem with a family friend, and am hooked.... such fun, and a great way to train. Been on a single bike, abeit as a "FUN rider, done 4 Argus'... yes in those days (Last one in 2000) and heading for my 5th in 2007.......) Enjoy quality time with your son, and you will never regret it. I cannot comment on parts or makes, but know I got a 'bargain' with our tandem.... affordable and reliable. See you on the road.
  5. I can only speak from the 'parent side'.... talent is not the main igredient, but passion, support and the mind to suceed. Many top talented cyclits never win a race, but they get the team to the line, thats talent...... never push to hard, but guidance and support makes a young 'talented cyclist' into a 'Hardened cyclist'. Talent is always there if they are keen. Good luck to this youngster.... just don't push to hard.... many a talent has got lost due to this, and this unfortunately comes from 'outside' family, not within. Many times people look at results and think you are not good, but you have worked your butt off to get the team in the break, too the line ... whatever..... my 20c worth, and a proud Mom of a 'talented' cyclist, maybe not a winner, in my books.
  6. Take Care SP.... and recover quickly.
  7. Great shots, and very entertaining. Thanks Crux.
  8. I nearly always stop... even going to work in the car, I will check that cyclist on side of road can cope.... picked up many a cyclist as a referree following races, and made some great, honest friends.... (yeah WW... will always assist you.) Even picked some up, en route to or from work, and dropped them off safely. In my first Argus, a dad and son helped me out twice, not once, and I have never forgotten that.
  9. Don't think CSC/CVT walked it, RK was 2nd, not such a walk over, but well done to 'Lucky, a good win, and long overdue. You gotta go in expecting to win, and admitt that, otherwise you shouldn't be in the race, as RK did. How was your ride Norris?.
  10. Hunter could never replace Basso......
  11. So.... well done Darren, many Pro's are looking for a ride, and hats off to him, arrogant or not, it paid off for him. SA Guys are such nice cyclists.... and get trodden on by Overseas attitudes/arrogance.
  12. I got hooked, then my son joined in, and cos Hubby was left out, he joined in....... I had to stop, cos they got impatient waiting at the finish....... Son still competitive, hubby trying to get motivated, but still very keen, and now I am doing Tandem with friend. (Great life)

    World Champs

I think the U23 rules applies if you ride for A Pro Contential Team only...... Which was the case with Ryan, maybe..... Contential (as KM) and lower do not apply. I could be mistaken though, as rules change so fast. Saw the sprint on RAI... awesome stuff.pedal2006-09-25 08:20:45
