  1. Our very own Valverde (or should that be Rebellin?)

    The Munga 2020

The event where wannabes get found out and Vetseun became a legend.
  3. Organized, thanks...dankie...merci
  4. Is there a bike shop in Graaf Reinet or any other place to buy a rear derailleur cable?
  5. Powermeter must be broken or a world tour team is missing a rider
  6. Last year was really slow and controlled and I see they branded it Coffee ride this year so I suspect it will be same. Keep everyone together.
  7. Cullinan 2 Tonteldoos does not allow gravel bikes. Race to Sun, not sure I’ll do on gravel bike again. Swartberg Gran Fondo is perfect for gravel bike. Descent back to Prince Albert in the drops requires concentration. Not sure there’s any benefit doing TransBaviaans on gravel bike. Sure you’ll be slower and will suffer more. Karoobaix is a fantastic event but very tough. Gravel Grinders offered from Prince Albert is perfect for gravel bikes and great fun.
  8. Glad the 2 of you were bonding and not arguing on the hub
  9. Sometimes the script just writes itself....I suppose LOL is the only appropriate response [emoji23]
  10. Bikehub logic....Pro peloton is clean but licenced and Engen riders are not. Comedy gold
  11. I think most of us are in the same position. CWC is the automatic choice despite living in Jhb. Not overly excited about this.
  12. Ouch that hurt! Came in under prepared and corrugated section after WP2 killed me on the Cotic, then came the wind and finally the single track climb next to the resort. Not sure there is an advantage riding a gravel/CX bike.
  13. Thanks for the pull nsBB, sorry I was useless today. Been sick for 2 weeks. Maybe I can help at Race to Sun.
  14. Out of competition testing only works if the testers can find the athlete. Only XCO MTBrs on whereabouts. Bio-passport not really working as we saw with Kreuzinger. Athletes are light years ahead of doping control. Lucky the sport is much cleaner now, new generation etc
  15. Hmmmm....sounds familiar, just can't recall the name of the shop.
  16. Defintely easier if you use USN. Epic Pro smells like bonemeal to me and I can't stand it but there are other options. Reading this thread makes me want to ride again!
  17. Strong statement there uncle that road is junk miles, I respectfully disagree. Building base and riding tempo on road is invaluable for MTB racing.
  18. Another case of FOMO here. Advice, there's already plenty. I see guys mention CTL of 60. Do you even train bro? I would aim much higher than that. Do a big block in Dec/Jan of 5 days, similar to race distances so you know what to expect. Sabie or Dullstroom is perfect unless of course you're in the Cape. Tankwa is fantastic prep after which you should be race ready. I ate gels for 8 days and nothing happened to me so I guess you can eat what you like. Solid food in the final 2 hours of the stage won't help much, so maybe worth considering something else. The rest you know, wash hands often and enjoy the ride.
  19. Riding on the N2, a Friday topic. Now where is that oom that knows everything about the Road Traffic Act when you need him?
  20. Keen but disappointed that one cannot book 1 x night stay at Sun City which means the “special” accommodation offer is useless.
