  1. Haha, nice. When it comes to handlebars carbon is the way to go for weight saving. If you can drop R1000 on a bar, you can get a 125g easton ea70 bar, awesome handlebar. Stem I think is bikefit dependent. Rather go for a bike fit before you change the length. The norm is 100mm, but 80mm-100mm is not uncommon for xc use. Wishing you many happy miles, now go out and ride that bad boy!
  2. Here's something I would like to know...How often do you guys get a flat? Never had one on a race. Burped my tire once. That's it. Stans or slime should always be runny, then I just carry a bomb an adapter with a multitool, chain breaker, cable ties and cash.
  3. In my opinion this is a *** rule. There are people entering races who are FAR more dangerous not only to themselves but to their fellow riders. Why can't one ride with earphones? Cause you can't hear? Well what if the volume is low enough? I am almost certain that if there was statistics, that the main cause of crashes are not earphones, I reckon earphones wouldn't even be on that list.
  4. No, 100grams in a rim is a lot. But it depends on what riding you will be doing. Arch is more than you probably need.
  5. How does it ride rouxtjie? I'm green.
  6. What brakes are you using with those hopes?
  7. If you are really desperate you can drop me a pm...
  8. The old shimano alivio cranks also use those bolts. Have about 5 in the toolbox now.
  9. Also doing it again. Maybe get a better time. There are no climbs on the karoo2coast...
  10. I found those race kings to give absolutely no give. You are either on or off your bike. And thanks for all the advice. Cornering is something we neglect. Loving the 2.25 racing ralphs. Very nice tires!
  11. Also have a out of true back wheel. So thanks for all the info, off to go buy the spoke tensioner.

  13. Maybe post a actual pic? Would like to see how the light/laser work in real life. We invest in massive headlights for our bikes but not tail lights. Why? When someone drives you over it will probably be from the back. Why not then get a big ass lumen tail light as well? Going to make it impossible for the cars to NOT see me.
  14. Alu is sometimes lighter than carbon at half the price. So don't be ashamed to buy alu.
  15. What's your weight? Here's my favourite combo: Easton ea90/ea70 carbon bar (R1100, 110g/125g) KCNC seatpost (+-R800, 160g) KCNC stem (R500, 105g) KCNC skewers (R250, 55g) Best value for money weight saving combo.
  16. Know for a fact that BMT in stellenbosch has those.
  17. You are more than welcome to take my emd9 for a spin in jonkershoek or g-spot.
  18. Actually niner will take a 100mm max fork.

I like CWC. I think they cut out the middleman who takes some of the LBS revenue, I think they get us much better prices than we would otherwise, they bring competition and competitive prices throughout the bike industry. As for what oom Chris said, think the pot boiled over somewhat. But I do agree with him to an extent. Was in a shop the other day and just mentioned that CWC is selling item x at much less, and the owner got all cheeky and told me ja but if I factor in petrol to cwc I might as well pay that 30% or whatever more. The bike shops don't like cwc, Yes they don't work through the normal channels but that is no reason why they should paint cwc black. Rather base your business on good advice and servicing of bikes. But most of them can't even do that and then they expect loyalty. As the saying goes, if you want loyalty get a dog. PS: If you went into that same bike shop and took of a set of eastons from his shelf, and asked him what he thought he would have said they are the best wheels out there...
  20. Would without a doubt go for this http://www.fortheriders.com.au/niner-emd9-2012-frame
  21. If that is him it would be ironic that he likes african safe-T (https://www.facebook.com/AfricaSafeT).
  22. Will only fall onto deaf ears but my vote goes towards road safety and awareness. Something like the pedestrian warning road signs.
