  1. Here's me an my lad going for a forest ride a few weekends back. He's 4.5 years old and literally lives on his bike (much like I used to!). http://oi64.tinypic.com/2mdlb0p.jpg
  2. Too true, same as you get days when the fish are just lazy. Still, I'd rather spend a day flicking a line to lazy fish than sitting at a desk
  3. Doh! I should learn to read properly SM bass are not bad fighters, but still not a yellow. The problem with muddies is that they tend to just bed down and hog the bottom. They don't really do much running but they're strong like a bulldog. I've landed some big ones at sterkies and they are a proper pain in the butt to turn and land, but not much action in the fight.
  4. Having caught both species on still water and rivers I'd have to disagree. SM yellows are pound-for-pound one of the strongest freshwater fish on the planet. Bass are fun, but after the initial run the fight is over. They're really easy to catch though which ups the fun factor.
  5. Your photoshopping skills have improved in leaps and bounds! Hehe
  6. LOL, quite a chancer. There's been a number of big online wallet hacks, and unlike with a bank, there is zero liability for the provider. And since they're normally hosted in questionable parts of the world, there's realistically little recourse for the account holder.
  7. Definitely don't view it as a simple currency hedge, see it as a (very) volatile commodity punt. Just remember that 5000% growth opportunities go hand in hand with the potential to lose your shirt. The fraud risk on online crypto wallets is also extremely high (and one of the main reasons I've stayed away). The past 12 months will show that there is no limit to the growth of crypto. But as with all untested concepts, the potential to crash is very real. I personally have shy'd away from it and feel that now is too late for my risk appetite.
  8. Take a punt, but be willing to take a knock if it turns. i.e. I personally wouldn't see this as an investment grade commodity, more like a medium term gamble. One of the early investors has rated a 20% probability of BTC crashing and burning once it becomes regulated. But then he's also predicted a 50% probability of it hitting $100k within 5 years. And he's been spot on with his predictions on crypto in the last 5 years...
  9. I did the same thing to a Victorinox a few years ago and managed to save it on a whetstone. Drop the point slightly to save blade length and then re-profile the cutting edge to match the new tip. Will still work well as a workhorse.
  10. All the mail centres are a dog show. I ended up walking into Durban Mail Centre at 3:30 one afternoon after waiting for a month for my goods to be processed. Not a single person was working! Once I started randomly picking up parcels (which are literally lying in piles all over the place) a few people appeared to see what I was doing. LOL. My parcel was still locked in the container it arrived in 4 weeks prior, and it took more than a little persuasion to get them to actually do their jobs and process it. What a bloody joke!
  11. My last few orders from CRC had incorrect invoices attached. One one they forgot to convert from GBP to ZAR, so the VAT was minimal. On another the values all showed as zero, so there was no VAT. I wasn't about to point out the error after waiting 4 weeks for the mail centre to do their jobs...
  12. Why so heavy?
  13. I seriously need to get my new steed up there for a workout! Soon I hope.
  14. I ride more on weekends, but also drink a lot more water than in the week. And beer. Well that's my excuse anyway!
  15. 10 beers not close to enough calories to add 2kg in 3 days, unless you weigh like 21kg's. Weight gain is more likely attributed to weekend diet change and water retention.
  16. A few years back I nearly bought one with a ported RX7 motor with sequential box from a BMW touring car. Was pretty mental but I chickened out.
  17. Darn but I miss my 7!
  18. You are going to gain amazing perspective from this Wayne. The first few weeks will take adjustment, but you're in a country will a plethora of opportunities available to you. Enjoy the experience.
  19. Best thing you'll ever do.
  20. Nice. I have a Spyderco Byrd with that same steel and it takes an edge very well. One of my favorites.
  21. What blade steel is that?
  22. Bottom of the left bib strap. Makes a concealed draw easier if you get bashed off your bike.
  23. Frame comes with a Fox Factory EVOL. I'll fit it once the cups and BB are in.
  24. So far just the frame and a shiny new Pike RCT3 140mm soloair boost (hi Miles ) have arrived. The wheels, cockpit and components are in varying stages of transit at the moment, but I'll create a build thread once everything is here and assembly can begin.
  25. The postman visited yesterday. Amazing attention to detail on this thing! Not sure if I want to build it or hang it on the wall though http://i65.tinypic.com/axyav4.jpg
