I'm afraid not, the inbred you have has the traditional 34mm headtube. If you have a 44mm headtube (i.e. 1 1/8" steerer using internal cups) then you can get the external cups to fit the tapered steerer.

Does change things "slightly". I guess it would depend on what the frames are. Also how much do you trust the club member? Would he stand by you in the case of a warranty claim? Warranty stops if you're the second owner.
