  1. 2006 50th Anniversary R1-SP edition - the one that came out with Ohlins, a slipper clutch and Marchesini wheels.

And the last of the 5 valve motors until they released the bigbang. I never understood why they went back to 4 on the 2007/8, it was a completely different ride.

  2. It was like watching a BSB race

I'm on one or two racing forums/groups and the general consensus seems to be that other racing circles, that kind of behavior is a 2 race ban

  3. I recently installed dirt 4 from steam, when trying to launch it there seems to be 2 dll files missing.

Any advice on how to resolve without downloading from dodgy dll sites.

I have reinstalled the game as well as MS visual studio

    Using win 10 pro 64bit

I had a similar issue once.

in Steam, right click the game > properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity...

    worth trying

  4. Just to clarify, I open her up, clean everything a bit, and then put gasket sealer on the old gasket and tighten her up again?

yeah that sounds right, give the old gasket a wipe with a petrol rag so the new sealer can get a good grip.

Take a photo of the gasket when you get it off and I'll track one for you for next time.

(Surprised about the CMS place, I used to get all my gaskets from them)

  5. Top and exhaust.

It sprays a few drops every time that I ride. About 1 liter per 2 tanks.

The one guy suggested that I just re-torque all the bolts and nuts.

Yeah that isn't terrible advice, it may well work. I've often come across the chinese stuff  with very loose fasteners in concerning places.

I'm pretty sure that Chinese motorcycle Spares in Durban Rd would have one of those. Or the bike/scooter place across the road from them.

    Worst case scenario..

The head gasket is usually a paper one with an aluminuim crush ring around the sleeve so you could very easily strip it and reuse it with any use a good grade gasket sealer.

  6. 03.10: Nicky Hayden’s father, Earl, has been unable to join his wife and son in Italy due to his own medical issues.

But he has been keeping up to date on Nicky’s condition from his home in Kentucky.

However, the ‘fake news’ online is reportedly adding to his pain.

Earl Hayden told Roadracing World the following:

    - The family HAS NOT issued a statement that Nicky is dead.

    - Nicky IS NOT dead, although he is on life support.

    - Nicky was riding his bicycle alone, NOT in a group of 14 riders.

    - Doctors DID NOT perform surgery on Nicky.

    - Nicky WAS NEVER in an induced coma.

  7. The issue was more the pannier sticking out and the first rider attempting to avoid the pannier

Just an interesting point on that..

In the UCI 2017 guidelines for vehicles in the convoy, section II, subsection D, point 3 states that the preferred option for motorcycles should be soft side panniers (leather) if possible or no side panniers.

Perhaps it's time to take the term preferred out of some of those guidelines?
