  1. If it is not banned by WADA, the chances are good that it will not make you faster/more endurance.
  2. R19900/team
  3. Just entered.
  4. Ahhh... DEEP SHEET, bro.
  5. Are you sure about the black bike? If you ask some girls what bike(or car) they are riding, they will tell you it is a white/pink/blue/red bike...
  6. I have come to the conclusion that the slowest tires are those with the sidewall punctures.
  7. I have done quite a few Sabies. I ride Maxxis. Crossmark/Monorail UST. Rolling resistance? I have seen myself also falling for these marketing ploys. I have also read all the links to guys (in Germany) testing tires for rolling resistance and coming to the conclusion that Conti Race king Supersonic and Schwalbe Evo RR (German brands) offer the lowest rolling resistance. I am not that convinced any more. It seems that the rolling resistance gets less when I am fit and gets more after the December holidays. Also check out the real width of the tire CASING with your vernier. You might find that the RR is not a real 2.25 tire. They measure the knobs. What are you riding at the moment? Just ride and enjoy. Flame guard ON.
  8. I have had Juicy 5's and Elixir 5's on two bikes. I can't say that I was overly impressed with any one set. But the Elixirs looks nicer.
  9. I will not buy a seatpost with 1 bolt or two sitting next to each other. My seatposts must have one at the front and one at the back. Like the Thomson. I have a Easton EC70 with the mentioned bolt placement. No problems. A Thomson on my other bike.
  10. He was treated like a child afer his childish behaviour. Twit.
  11. Dear mr Klint. You are not the only one who "knows" how to wash a bike. Your product may be good, but others are just as good or better. As you said. Tunnel vision. The way you speak to some others like "chap" or "buddy". "Office job". You won't win friendship competitions. Derogatory.
  12. Another irritating thing is the water that enters the rim when I am riding in the wet season. I see Shimano drilled small holes in the sides of the rims of their XT wheelsets to get rid of this.
  13. Hey you guys! The OP posted his pet and you are knocking him. Play nice.
  14. Correct. VERRRRRY little sunshine.
  15. That's better BUT read your own earlier posts. You gave milk a big thumbs down...
  16. What makes you an expert? Google Guru does not count. Take care when answering... For the same money that you claim milk is bad because of hormones (and Woolies claims their milk is free), others might claim that soy bean oil can be used to fuel dielsel engines. Can you really say that yor soy milk is free of that oil? Or of pesticides and glifosate? Or not genetically modified? Carefull when you split hairs. And why would plant (phyto) oestrogens be better than human oestrogen? I am not some kind of plant. Have a nice day.
  17. I think you are just trying to split hairs. I smell bad science when I read the words "science has shown" without the mention of the proper article/paper. phyto oestrogens? Last time I looked oestrogens were FEMALE hormones. And that I am not.
  18. Riding mixed as team York timbers.
  19. 1. Prepare to TAKE YOUR TIME. 2. Remove the lowers. Remove the seals. 3. Strip the paint. Thick layer of paint will make your filing difficult. 4. Forget the Dremel. It is to easy to go to deep with power tools. And you don't want the metal to heat up. 5. Hack them off. 6. File them into shape. 7. Sand them with 400, then up to 1200 water sandpaper. 8. File it again. NOT TO MUCH. 9. Sandpaper again. The sanding will show you where you still have to file. 10.Use your vernier to confirm that you are on the right track. 11.Do not do this if you are ham fisted/ have 11 thumbs. 12.If you go to deep you, you will have to buy a new one. 13.Get it painted properly. Don't do this with a can of Aerolac. 14.Remove all traces of metal filings before you reassemble the fork. As I said. It is easier to get another fork or lowers. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt.
  20. So it boils down to the fact that if you want to ride EVERYTHING (hills, Crater cruise, 3-8 day stage races ultra marathons etc.), go for the 3X9/10? Unless you go by the name of Burry or Kevin.
  21. You can BUT 1. Respray 2. You will have to file the damn thing flat. Very time consuming. 3. DON'T go to deep. It might impair on the strength and looks. 4. It will be easier to get new lowers (but will cost you $$$) 5. Or sell it on the classifieds for somebody who wants v brakes and buy new ones. 6. Ride the thing as is. This is the cheapest and best option.
  22. +1 Lowering the tire pressures from 2 bar to 1.8 bar(for mtb's that is) will give you more vibration dampening and a softer ride than R3000 worth of carbon goodies. Carbon will improve your bragging rights though.
