  1. Thanks Frosty, that makes sense. Hardly worth the effort then. First you have to fork out an extra R800 to buy a bike at Cyclelab, at their inflated prices, to get a maximum of R130 odd per month back over the next 36 months.
  2. Has anyone activated the new bike booster yet? Trying to make sense, as I read conflicting information on different parts of the Vitality website. What is the maximum amount of cash back that can be achieved? Is it R5000 or R20000 over the 36 month period? The following paragraph was copied and pasted from the website. Your cash back is made up of up to 25% with Bike Booster and is paid monthly over 36 months. The total cashback that can be earned over the 36 month benefit duration is capped at R20 000 of the purchase price of your bike. If I understand the screenshot correctly the maximum is capped at R5000, (25% of the first R20000) Confusing!

AB and Quinie setting IPL 18 ablaze for RCB. Both on 50 no after few deliveries. Get to a TV soon! Raining sixes!!!
  4. SAPEKOE is eén voorbeeld.
  5. +1. Losing and controlling weight is all about insulin. Insulin switches the metabolism between fat burning and fat storing mode. Even a small sip of coke is enough to 'throw the switch' in fat storing mode for a couple of hours. It is physically impossible to put on weight if insulin levels are kept low and constant
  6. Better to go cold turkey and cut the sweet stuff once and for all. No small bites and sips here and there. Will be the quickest to completely get over the cravings.
  7. Hang in there Johan. Breaking the clutches of a carb overloaded diet is not easy, but it is so much worth it! The cravings should become less after 10 to 14 days. You should perhaps look at your salt intake. Suddenly reducing the amount of carbs in a diet does have a diuretic effect on most individuals. This can leach electrolytes from your system, and can in turn lead to a lethargic and weak feeling, and even cramps and night cramps. Consuming a salty broth or soup once or twice a day should sort this out.
  8. If I knew about your trip beforehand I should have brought you some decent mielie pap. (I have my own mill on the farm) It is minimally sifted and contains all the goodies, the protein and fat containing germ is not sifted out. Then again taking mielie meal down into KZN I would have felt a bit like a rhino horn smuggler. Shocked to read that a Durban boytjie like yourself dont eat curry!.? I am from the Freestate and enjoys a decent Durban curry anytime! Is decent water such a problem that you need to carry 8 litres at a time? Hope your trip was a great and memorable one. Care to share some more, on this or on another thread?

Nothing strange. Happens every year. Injuries, sickness, last minute commitments all taking a bite out of the few thousand original entries.

Quickstep just on another planet this year. Absolutely dominating every race.
  13. Hang in there first 3 days is the toughest, gets easier after 7 days. Make it easier on your self. Clear your fridge and cupboards of all unwanted unhealthy stuff. In 14 days time you will start noticing the differences in your clothes. After 21 days you will have engrained your new healthier habits. In 60 days it will be a lifestyle change for good. I have been addicted to bread, and I can honestly say I don't miss it any more.
  14. Thanks for the offer. I will keep that in mind. Maybe if I can drop the bikes and carrier at your house and make use of the normal parking facilities. That will help a lot. Let us see what else pops up
  15. This is perhaps a long shot, and a bit late, but I am looking for a friendly Durban Hubber that can store my car, with a bike rack and 2 bikes, for a week from Monday 8 April to Friday 13 April. We are going on the MSC Sinfonia, and I know there is parking near the Harbour available, but since we are going up the North coast afterwards I want to bring two mountain bikes as well. Otherwise I will have to box the bikes and, or, tow a trailer to lock the bikes in. I am off course willing to pay in cash for such a kind gesture.
  16. Loss off electrolytes is a major cause of night cramps. This can be caused by to much caffeine (coke, coffee). Can also be caused by other diuretic foods and drinks. A low carb diet is also known to be diuretic. Major physical activity without purposefully replacing the electrolytes might also cause night cramps. Most of the time, all that is needed is upping your salt intake slightly. Adding extra salt, or consuming a salty soup or broth once or twice a day.
  17. At last easter is now a thing of the past. Refocus everyone.

Morkel not likely to bowl in second innings. Rabada carrying an injury. We are going to win the series anyway. Keep the Ausies in the field as long as possible.

Would have been 4 runs down to fineleg if he wasn't standing up. Absolutely brilliant wicket keeping!

    Cricket......

What a catch by Quinnie!! Down the leg side, standing up to the fast bowler! Might not be in the best form with the bat, but a catch like that is worth 50 runs in my book!

    Cricket......

I am off the opinion that sandpaper, and or different ball tampering devices have been in use by the current Australian cricket team under the Leadership of Smith and Liegman for quite a while. Remember they came into the recent ashes series as complete underdogs. All of a sudden all of the fast bowlers 'hit form', and they were all over the English batsmen like a rash.
