  1. In the CTCT you see people walking up (is it Edinburgh Drive?) Bishopscourt area....and in last year's YouTube video you could see Epic riders walking down a medium difficulty decent. You should have to "qualify" to get an entry but think of how much that would affect profit......I pity the riders staying in tents and getting the Epic Delhi Belly gyppos.....
  2. Don't bottles pick up a lot of dust and stuff like cow ****? 😃 Proper daily rinse with water and toilet paper in Bottom to soak...
  3. Ah ok, my bad. Must be my German sense of humour.
  4. That's a bit harsh, she got blocked/baulked by something.
  5. I think he's pronouncing it Langvall which is the correct pronounciation?
  6. Anyone else not missing Neil Gardiner's commentary this year? I'm really enjoying it and without NG boring the rest of the team even Gerald has stepped it up a notch.....loving the informal style without the constant over explaining and repetition.
  7. Update. I passed minus16kg this morning and going strong. Standing on the scale is now something I look forward to, even if some days there's no change. On the weekend I beat my Max heart rate by 6 BPM, a rate I haven't seen in 5 or more years. 🚲
  8. Press fit BB or bearings, threaded rod, sockets and old bearings......I seldom need a bike shop other than wheel trying and for suspension it's Jakes at Shockingly Good Bicycle Service
  9. Agree fully re Jakes/SGB. He's the ONLY suspension guy.
  10. I often see these comments about claiming for a product failure on insurance.....how does that work? I'm insured on specified all risk/out and about yet they will only cover accidental (not incidental) damage ....
  11. I've got the same one .....I constantly get bugged by flies on climbs here in JHB when I'm riding slowly....I reckon flies mistake it for a cow Pat....😆 I kid you not. Nice noble gesture, good on you.
  12. I dabbled in making my own, laser cut and out of the correct material, Matt one side and smooth the other, I forget the name of the material.....I had a contact for printing but that was a favour. Someone who does corporate gift etc printing should be able todothe printing. A decal wont stay stuck due to sun on the black and the curve etc. Better to get it printed. If you need just one blank I might still have one?
  13. Could be that the mech or hanger were already bent as OP had a slippage issue. At the minimum they should fit chain correctly and attempt to bend things straight - not sure they owe him a new RD though....... I know it's not Friday but I tend to shy away when I see a bike upside down 😁
  14. Is that chain even through the cage??
  15. I'm dealing with an issue through Capitec where I paid for something on my card. They can try to reverse it 30 days after via (Visa I think). Not sure about your curcumstances
  16. First service should be free. Another reason to learn to do your own spannering as much as possible but I get that a newbie or some less inclined can't always do that.
  17. Spent a year in the Navy in Durban.....going to Waai Pozi was going home....😀
  18. Thanks Dexter, I'm in Fourways....I'v Ive bought the Marvel stuff from CL. The Birzman is nice, almost rubbery but this should work.
  19. I'm not sure that auto wrapping will be thick enough as I've used that in the past and thus my liking the Birzman bike protection material, unfortunately I've used all of mine and moved house and probably lost the last small prices in the clean out. The Birzman material almost has a rubbery-ness about it that I like as it can absorb s small knock. Gorilla tape maybe ditto. Cost wise the Marvel stuff is not much more so that's where I'm headed I guess. Thanks so far 💪
  20. I've only ever ridden scintered on my Sram brakes. I've ridden OEM and aftermarket and never had noise or effectiveness issues. I fit them then ride them down a bit of a slope, grabbing medium hard for a short distance, then releasing for a bit and repeating 3 or 4 times and I'm done.
  21. If all else fails I might just flgo this route at CL.... https://www.cyclelab.com/product/4003325-mguard-marvel-frame-protection-sticker
  22. Hi there On my MTB my shifter (RHS) knocks against my toptube when I turn the bars 90⁰ when loading my bike in the car. I'm on the lookout for a tiny, R2 coin sized bit of frame protection clear, but quite thick, like the Birzman stuff I've used on my frame 4 years ago and wishing I still had some left....any ideas?
  23. I've always adopted the "it's not how fast you start, buthow fast you finish" principle. I start at my easy pace and get properly warm before I even think of putting in an effort. Then I start to build up and give it horns in the last few km, oftenpassing riders that rode away from me at the start. Good luck!
  24. So just some feedback. After about a month I've been IF 18:6 every day as well as going full Keto. My rides are 2 hours per, Z2 and completely fasted, 4 days a week. My focus has been completely on losing weight and not fit at all. My first ride felt like a bonk from start to finish, but have become easier, as long as I keep the intensity down, probably also due to being under-caloried at between 1300 to 1800 cal per day, in total spread over 2 meals. For the last week the weather has prevented me riding (like most of Gautengers). The good news is that I don't ever feel hungry and have twice fasted for 22 hours without major hunger. The better news is that in this one month I have lost 9kg. From 112.6 to 103.6. Onward and upward, goal: 90-95kg.....
  25. I was watching for a RFS thread - how were the weather and road conditions?
