  1. How long ago was said incidents, I’ve done this route a good couple of times in the past couple of months?
  2. Here is an alternative route https://www.strava.com/routes/3030461548633593850 Durbanville to Paarl Alternative.gpx

  4. Adderley road, I’ve done it plenty of times this year solo at different times of the day and different days of the week and never felt threatened by vehicles or muggers.
  5. Yes, Thanks, I've done my fair share with Momentum Multiply over the years but not everyone follows the same protocol hence the questions.
  6. Well Done Benky, where do you think you lost it, lack of extra power due to the injury in the lead up to the Rhino Run? Not sure what the road conditions were for the last +- 200kms but did Abdullah have an advantage with his gravel tires vs your 2.4's? From the videos & photos it seemed like AZ was carrying less load on his bike, was there ever a thought or chance that you could lessen the load knowing you only have +-100kms to go? Is that even allowed? Sure you have to cater for every scenario but I'm just thinking what if that was the difference?
  7. Where did you do it? I'm new to Discovery Vitality so these are just outstanding options to bump my points to reach the next level.
  8. Meanwhile this mornings headlines 🤦🏼‍♀️
  9. what there are people still riding. I've forgotten about this race already. How long do they have to complete the course?
  10. ask some friends with Team cars to take a water bottle or 2 I'm sure they will not mind.
  11. in 2018 a friend that was doing the short route just filled up at that last WP in KromRhee Road as we were passing him, this was about +-10kms from the finish. He kindly gave me a bottle as nobody wanted to stop in the reduced peloton going to the line. Everyone wanted a sip so we passed it around like we never heard of COVID so everyone could take a swig, ah those were the days
  12. Apologies for the late reply, only saw this now, Stellies>Polkadraai>Zevenwacht>Bottelarey>Frans Conradie(Brackenfell through to Goodwood)>Thornton>Pinelands>Rondebosch>Claremont
  13. Trust me you only going to need that 3rd bottle closer to home, so maybe you can convince her to meet you at km mark 140 to 160
  14. Oh this has become a regular occurrence since the reopening 😅😝🤣🫣
  15. I think Sofiane has given up on the win if you follow his Instagram posts. He had a massive season winning TD most recently. Okes are probably just in survival mode right now.
  16. care to post a photo of what you currently have on. I may just have something.
  17. I'm going to reserve judgment until we know the real deal, as you said earlier at Beta Camp they slept for 11 hours there is no way anyone aiming for even top 10 is sleeping there that long.
  18. To those saying "I've never lost a bottle in more nearly 100 years" stop riding manicured trails/ tar road with your MTBS 😝
  19. I think the tracker is just confirming the reports, but we are still unsure what the protocol is for abandoning or scratching from the race? I would guess it is find your own way to the finish, so there was no other option but to continue riding after clearing the initial medical concern? I’m just speculating what the situation was.
  20. Yeah was following that daily. some great insights to what was happening out there. The pitch reports was also great, typical Ozzie 🤪 If you consider how close AZ came to destroying his rim early on that was a massive gamble that luckily for him paid off.
  21. I think calling it cheating is harsh. As per the media post, what are they to do if they want to scratch from the race? from what I'm gathering absolutely nothing, it takes days to get word to the organizers. Had they finished and not declared that they got assistance then by all means bring on the tar & feathers. I think some disgruntled rider in a world of pain aiming for top 5 all of sudden noticed on the tracker that these guys were ahead and called it as he saw it.
  22. https://www.strava.com/routes/3022074252173964282 Which date are you planning on doing it?
