I've done 3 Mungas. All of them through that section. Hated it. That sand at night was awful. I told Jack Black in his 2022 survey, Why make us suffer in that crap. 2023 it was gone. 2019 I tried to nap in one of those roofless buildings. Couldn't. Too much wind and too hyped up on energy stuff. Serious fomo. Have been dot watching all the time. Can't believe so many riders still at Britstown at this time.

Did the 160 last year. You do the WTF climb upfront then its alot of long drags. A few bumps from 80 to 120km

Was there last week Thursday. Used the main entrance. Kareekloof entrance is closed Road conditions were near perfect. Came across 1 small pothole Lots of animals now. Note that you have to pay at the main building. I had to pay R80 for taking a car in with my bike (Car R35 and cyclist R45) and payment by card only. They had alot of workers there cleaning up the area. The toilets are in working order. The picnic area is closed so carry enough fluids

I used it in my first Munga. could hear the air leaks from the tyres in the dead of the night on a long thorny stretch of road. it sealed all. Plenty of them. The seat tube was coated full with sealant so it sealed dozens of punctures

More clarity. I used a borrowed wahoo element bolt exclusively for navigation. My own edge 820 for capturing the ride, hr speed etc. Both were plugged in permanently to a power bank. During the night the back light was on the wahoo. Both devices were on for the entire 99 hr ride. They were never switched off. I carried 2 power banks, 20000mah and 10000mah. I went overkill as I didn't want to risk losing navigation or the ride. The 20000mah still had some charge in it at the end and they were never charged on route. The grit is a 50 hr max ride, and if u using 1 device only, it is likely that a 10000mah should work. Faster u ride the less power u need. Get a good one. The energizer ones are great

It is identical to the Munga race prep document. You would need to use your gps navigation as the route would not be marked. Stick a small powerbank on your bike to power the gps. I did this for The Munga

Jetwasher. Fast and gets all the dirt off. Been doing it for years on my mountain bikes with no problems. I use oil as lubricant.

So what is the service interval on a kickr 3? Mine is 2.5 yrs old. It's the usual noisy one at high cadence. But I do have a delay when using erg mode when jumping from say 135w to 250 or 300 or more. There can be up to about 8 sec delay till it sets to the new power. I regularly do a spindown Do I need to send it in for service/repairs/upgrade?

Try this. Get yourselves waterproof socks. Can put them on from the beginning. I just put some insulation tape around the top to make sure of the seal at cp3. Rode most of langwater. Got off with about 5 m to the step up. So shoes were completely drenched. But lo and behold. Feet were dry inside the socks. And because air can't get to you feet through the sock, your feet don't freeze

How was the corrugations compared to last year. Last year wasn't bad

Today's race was simply awesome. The trails in Eye of Africa were top quality. Compliments to the trail builders

Kickr 3 owner here. How often you guys do a spindown? Did one after maybe 20 sessions. usually 45 min to 1hr sessions Now the Kickr is a different animal. 180w feels like 220w before Does the calibration go off so much?
