Being somebody who plays paintball at every opportunity I can understand the alure of taking pot shots at passing riders. But as a mature person, I would never ever do that, the possibilities of harming someone are too great to take a chance. I wouldnt do anything to anybody that I wouldnt want done unto myself..

Apparently he wasnt wearing that neck protector DH'ers are supposed to be wearing for hyperextension accidents. I think this guy was also riding Jonkershoek in the morning. Horrible to hear though, hope he recovers..

Chatted to Mike the owner, who was made aware of this incident and will be investigating. Sounds like it was a bachelors party and these idiots went outside of the demarcated zone to take pot shots. They will be in touch with them. Let it be a warning to anybody else doing something as stupid. next time there will be an assault charge laid.

So riding up Jonkershoek yesterday, lower canary.. my mate got shot by a couple paintballers while making his way up there. Who can we contact about this? We have bruises as proof. He was also wearing a trail helmet and not a full face which could result in blindness quite easily with some well aimed shots. How the hell can you have an active paintball area right in amongst the mountain bike trails?

Just wear DH gear on your normal rides.. just in case...

For first person action, Battlefield 3 and 4 which is coming soon is the best option. Awesome physics, graphics and game play. Huge maps. Ive played Battlefield 2&3 competitively so im a bit biased.. Farcry 3 was quite fun, Dishonoured was fun in a simple way..Metro Last light and Metro 2033 are decent. Steam has some awesome Indie games at the moment as well, very fun.

Been playing Neverwinter Online, pretty awesome RPG, free to play, recommend checking it out. Wildstar is coming out soon, another excellent looking MMORPG. Guild Wars 2 died miserably for me..

Stop worrying about others and what they chose to wear, it really doesnt even effect you.. One thing is for certain, if a rider is not comfortable in what they are wearing, they will change it, whether its baggies or lycra is makes no difference. By you making a thread such as this one, clearly it bothers you that people ride in anything other than what you chose to ride in. Leave it alone maybe?

On behalf of Revolution Cycles, who were hit by organised thiefs on Saturday 29 Dec: Hi Bike Shop Owners and Staff On Saturday 29 December 2012 at 17.42 two thieves broke the metal gate locks and smashed down our front door and stole three bikes in 14 seconds flat. The thieves were ‘posing’ as informal car guards wearing yellow vests and jeans. One guy wore a peak cap and the other one wore sunglasses. Video footage indicates that both perpetrators are young (late teens to early twenties) coloured guys. It seems that they had a vehicle waiting outside and drove off within seconds of loading the three new bikes. The bikes stolen are all new 2013 models (without pedals) with Revolution Cycles decals applied to the frames.
