  1. Thanks Anton, I think you are onto something there.. Will give it a try.
  2. Hi Guys I think this is the condition I have (http://sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/knee_injuries/a/knee11.htm). Been ongoing for a few months now, but after about 5 weeks rest from the bike (torn foot ligaments) the pain is still there, albeit not as bad, but can be in certain instances. Has anybody else had this condition or knows how to effectively treat it? I am going for another bike fit this week to make sure there is nothing wrong with my onbike posture (Im hoping there is because that would explain the issue). If that fails I need to book myself into a physio perhaps to have looked at. Somebody explained to me that my weight is usually to far back, behind my knee which puts excessive strain on my knee joint and thus the muscles around the knee. My weight should be positioned more forward which seems strange as I would probably go over the handle bars. I am about 2m tall and ride a XL frame. Somebody also mentioned that my hip may need strengthening as that is causing a misalignment of my kneecap. Any advice on what I can look for or specific excersizes I need to do to help the issue would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Wall mount in my study does the trick, keeps it out of the way and its right there when I need to turn away from the PC and just ogle at it..
  4. Yeah looks like the horizontal scaling is disabled.. should scale according to screen resolution... On a laptop its very cramped.
  5. Good on you.. out of interest.. did you just wrestle the bike away from this person?
  6. wow - no words.
  7. My wife added some neoprene padding to my gloves to protect the ulnar nerve. Had numbness issues before but they seem intermittent now at best. Added padding works wonders. Just sew some into the inside.
  8. Had to break the story up into 4 segments before I could finish it nice read
  9. too true
  10. Man up? No but in all seriousness, dont let the possibility of a fall hold you back. Ive done some crazy **** and have yet to break anything. stick to the jeep tracks and you will be fine
  11. Great read for this morning, thanks!
  12. Why do people still ride there? Let alone walk there... Im from CPT and have seen many a dodgy character hanging around that area when im up there for work, regularly. Its been an issue for ages now.. why take the risk? Glad u got your bikes back but seriously, plan a better route next time..
  13. Forgot to mention Onza is pretty damn decent as well. Running a Racing Ralph at the rear and an Onza Canis up front.. excellent grip from both. Hard to avoid tar in CPT.. if you want to string together a ride of about 30km or more, you have to involve tar unfortunately.
  14. Maxxis Crossmarks ye.. I love my Racing Ralphs,, just a bit soft for Tar
  15. Good on Arno! Same thing happened at the Argus challenge last year. Buddy of mine is a firefighter with first aid training. We killed our total time helping this guy out who had passed out in the vineyards... was incredibly hot. The satisfaction one gets from helping somebody in need far outweighs any satisfaction that comes from finishing a race. MTBing imo is as much about other riders as it is about you.
  16. Figured this was a joke, tbh bad form. The guy who got nailed by this prick im sure is not finding this the least bit humorous.
  17. If I had to ride my 29r knobblies for the argus, I would have to buy a new back tyre afterwards. Soo 2 hundred bucks for slicks, or 700 for a new Schawlbe.. its a no brainer. guys who do complain are probably trying to watch their image, cause cycling is all about image..
  18. ou guys seen this yet? I wouldnt call it an attack at all, although I cant figure out why these guys took so long to leave the area. Giraffe looks very curious and unsure at the same time. Poor scott bike looks a in a bit of bad shape
  19. Just in case she is reading.... My wife
  20. Strange, I got given the option to waive all admin fee's once I confirmed that once my car was insured I would move my household contents over. No admins fees for me hey.. although that may have been a special on at the time..
  21. Same, it sleeps right next to me usually
  22. Nevermind Found it.... different policy document... damnit That said, perhaps that only applies if you are claiming under a household claim.. surely if you insure your bike seperately.. it wont be classified under the Outbuilding statement..
  23. I think you got shafted... Ive just checked my entire policy again and cant find any mention of a limit on goods stolen from outhouses, only that a forced entry needs to have happened etc.
  24. I think by secure they need to know that it cant be removed without opening the car boot etc. I use a Thule fixed arm mount on my hatchback. Never remove the thing, and you cannot remove it without opening the boot. however its easy to remove a bike from the rack if its not locked to the rack.
  25. I have scanned my MiWay policy doc twice now and can find nothing which states I need to have my bike locked up with a specific thickness lock when unattended. I will enquire this. However when speaking to the consultant (not sure how much claim knowledge they have) they confirmed that if the bike was on the back of my car, no locks discussed, and somebody steals it at a robot. I am apparently covered etc.
