  1. I like the (new?) Flandria yersey
  2. one lean FanieFiets there! Ronelle, awesome! I feel like a scratched bit of vinyl saying it every time, but the 'wow' moments really deserve it...
  3. very nice ML!

  5. For Tuscany MTB/touring, look at this as well: http://www.terresienainbici.it/index_eng.asp Basically the route(s) of the Erocia that are made more accessible to English speaking cyclo-tourists the last year or two. For the Como lake district look at this: http://www.cicloviadeilaghi.it/home.jhtml Maps (1:250000, 1:50000) are also available as pdf's there, but also in hard copy in tourist offices. Probably more road than MTB but a special place to visit is the Madonna del Ghisallo and the bicycle museum there. You might even have a beer with RH Sourthern Alps (Alpes-Maritimes) MTB: http://www.randoxygene.org/pge/rando_vtt/rubrique_rando.php?rubrique=2&zone=1 There is 30 MTB routes (from 2 hours to 5 hour traverse routes) in a booklet available. I cant find a pdf copy on the web site, but I'm sure you can email them. Ask for "VTT2008 - Les Guides Randoxygene". It contain route and profiles info. Be warn, it is not flat The area is from JLA's Col La Bonette in the north to looking over Monaco in the South: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_S-w3OhLoCSw/Sr-5IRoK_JI/AAAAAAAAE_k/tW7QxMHo-p8/s800/IMG_5274.JPG http://lh5.ggpht.com/_S-w3OhLoCSw/Sr-7tVV0u8I/AAAAAAAAFEE/3djkPOtGKkc/s800/IMG_5342.JPG
  6. Uhmmmm' date=' yes they do. When you say the name Raleigh here they guys get all misty eyed and think of the glory days of Peter Post's TI-Raleigh team. Tour legends like Joop Zoetemelk and others like Jan Raas and Gerrie Kneteman won big races on the CAMPAGNOLA(!) equiped Raleighs. Unfortunately Raleigh no longer sells top end bikes in most countries (excluding SA and Ireland), so the brand is more remembered for its past glories. ...just had a phonecall from my LBS. They managed to find the weird headset bearings for my Raleigh. Very happy! Not standard stock here...[/quote'] maggies! I did not see one yet, but just learned on www.raleigh.ie that my LBS have a Raleigh rental tandem. Kan jy nou meer....! < id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">
  7. Probably the SA pro that I respected the most and he certainly deserve his place in the "Madonna Del Ghisallo" church. RIP Ryan. http://lh6.ggpht.com/_S-w3OhLoCSw/Sr-_Hkn4TgI/AAAAAAAAFJw/cmrWLx147FM/s800/EuropaVakansie%20267.jpg < id="gwProxy" ="">< ="jsCall;" id="jsProxy" ="">
  9. Yes, from that smile it is clear that Lance say something about her pink shoes
  10. Very nice Ronelle. Amazing how dark it was at the end - some interesting effects... Also thanks for that background, ai dis 'n mooi berg <sigh> Colonel, you went a bit in the red zone tonight?
  11. Very nice Ronelle!
  12. I got this from the Irish "thehub": there was a few kids getting involved yesterday. i overheard one of them (about 10 year old on her mini bike) say to her dad (i assume)..."daddy, does the man know we are cycling in circles?"
  13. Ok, I really though I'm above this juvenile behavior, but what would you do if you see this on twitter: "Good morning Dublin. Who wants to ride this afternoon? I do. 5:30 pm @ the roundabout of Fountain Rd and Chesterfield Ave. See you there.." A "no" decision quickly converted to a "ja-broer" when our dinner guest send a message that he is going to be a hour late, so there i was - joining the (ever increasing at every traffic light with shy smiles) critical mass ride trough the city center. Basically, those that wasn't there don't have bikes and more chaos than the Argus start without fencing: http://lh5.ggpht.com/_S-w3OhLoCSw/SpRcpRtbP4I/AAAAAAAAEqI/qjmbbnOVhaQ/s800/Lance%20006.jpg After some inside information from the press photographers after their meeting with the traffic honcho I was able to strategically position myself to be at the front when Lance came trough. I slowed down and he passed right by me. And then... "net klippe wierook en hare" .... enough testosterone, aggression and nerves to put the Argus B bunch to shame. I was quickly worked about 10 rows back but then the beast in me awoke and my elbows start to do their thing After one lap I pull out for my personal photo session: http://lh4.ggpht.com/_S-w3OhLoCSw/SpRdJoQJUdI/AAAAAAAAErA/1zCp_M2TnD4/s800/Lance%20019.jpg Enought cyclist to keep this up for about 10 minutes: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_S-w3OhLoCSw/SpRdMz8LAcI/AAAAAAAAErE/EWsYcEGvoc4/s800/Lance%20020.jpg Some road manners: http://lh3.ggpht.com/_S-w3OhLoCSw/SpRddrfUGqI/AAAAAAAAEro/rXzAFcVOm70/s800/Lance%20028.jpg The album: http://picasaweb.google.com/gert.conradie/20090822_LancePhoenixPark?authkey=Gv1sRgCJGmoPH-1r2YsAE#
  14. Actually working on the rim gives you more accuracy in the sense that a small ammount of movement at the rim is even smaller at the casette. so it will be easier to do the adjustment at the rim.On the assumption that your rim is true.Yes' date=' but we can assume someone will check that. (I would, if it was my own bike anyway) This is also done easier with the tyre removed.[/quote'] but not necessary. and a proper job can be done with the tyre still on. yes, really. but we are sensitive today
