  1. I almost never use the middle "cruise" level. It's up or down for me, but the 3 level setting is fine. This is silly.
  2. 12 height adjustment options? Really? Come on. You actually don't HAVE to change every friggin product, you know. Whatever happened to "if it aint broke, don't fix it"?
  3. I wonder at what point economics will dawn on the market. How many trail bike variants can the market really sustain? Great as a consumer to have 30 choices, but pretty sure 30 bike companies can't live off selling 10 bikes each. Not saying the market HAS reached saturation point but flip, it feels like a new one is popping up every week. Guess that's why the marketing teams are in overdrive convincing us that we absolutely HAVE to upgrade our bikes every year. Screw saving. MOAR NEW BIKES!
  4. So now that wheelsizes are no longer en vogue, we'll just annoy all the OCD sufferers out there...
  5. Platypus, is that you?
  6. That's funny because I asked Jennie Stenerhag why she didn't fit one on her new Scott favouring the SID, she said she's waiting for them to sort out all the issues that arose from the Epic feedback from Sauser et al.
  7. So will this be tested past it's apparent dirt roadie target i.e. on trails people usually ride, with the odd big hit thrown in?
  8. Basically R3k for a massive upgrade. Plus you will get some dosh for your current parts. That's what I'm going to do. Sell my Zee and XT parts and go XT 11. Pretty sorted then!
  9. Wonder if you'll have to run chainring and crank or can mix with whatever NW you are running
  10. Yes I am seriously struggling to make peace with the fact that I'm not going this year, especially with the World Cup vids coming in and you realising how awesome it felt to be in a town that's focussed on bikes for a whole season. I feel like a soldier that's just been informed his tour of duty's been extended and he won't be going home just yet (ok that's maybe a bit dramatic, but you get the point).
  11. Yup, and the baggies are the cheapest I've come across. Royal, One, Fox are all more expensive from what I've seen of late. But I won't buy another full combo (probably). Just a bib and some cheap boardshorts from Mr. Price should do the trick.
  12. R1600 for the combo. Bib is R900. Two years ago I paid R1600 for a Castelli bib, and I don't feel any difference in quality or comfort. Spez did something right here.
  13. I prefer loose fitting t-shirts to the XC type cycling tops. Further, this sits tight, and I mean tight. Even with a full waterbottle in the one pouch I experienced no flopping around on my back - this drives me insane with a pack and I experienced this with normal tops too. Finally, the pouches are incredibly secure. In the two rides I did I rode some rattly and rough trails and nothing moved, nevermind fell out. Sure it won't be ideal to fall on my back with all that stuff in there, but to be honest I think people overestimate the effect of a pack on their back and further underestimate the force of a fall - if there's a hard and pointy object in your pack, chances are you'll still know about it if you have a proper off onto your back. I won't go riding DH with this, but that's hardly its intended use anyways. I just want an alternative to a pack which makes me feel more like an Actual Mountaineer rather than All Mountain rider. Pretty certain 80% of people out there reckon te SWAT tech is a gimmick (because Spez did it you see). But if I can go packless on a 4 hour ride and still have access to everything I need on a ride, then that's a gimmick I'll take everyday of the week. And did I mention it's as cheap as Indola products, yet far superior (the baggies are light, look great, fit well and the bibs don't cut circulation to your legs and you don't feel like you are wearing a diaper)?
  14. The fact that I don't need a cumbersome pack for my long rides anymore. It's comfortable and convenient. And light. And cheap.
  15. Sounds good. Will go hit the trails this weekend then! Thanks!
  16. How safe are these trails to ride on your own on weekends. I assume with JOnkers being out, the trails should be quite busy, but I don't like taking chances with these type of things. I need some big rides for the Sani2C and this is one of a few spots with the trails for 4 hour rides. Cheers!
  17. This has changed riding for me forever. Done a 60km ride with them and an Enduro this weekend and this is how I will do my sub-4 hour rides from now on. http://www.specialized.com/za/en/ftr/mountain-apparel/apparel-with-swat/mountainbiblinershort
  18. Revolution sell them from their PYGA concept store (their old premises next to the Thule shop now).
  19. Just a correction, 68 finished day 1. I think 77 entered and started.
  20. It's going to be epic...
  21. This is what I was talking about.
  22. I think you're neglecting a very sexy option. The Niner WFO 9?
  23. Never liked the look of the Mojo's, so my pic would be between Messrs. Bronson and Spaz.
