  1. Quick, go and ride the diamond back 3day tour starting tomorrow. You will ride through that area then...... Pity I'll be missing it this year, certainly one of the highlights on my race calender of 2005, and I'll certainly be back in 2007.
  2. bla bla bla, I hate you all with your chirpy early morning comments! Me, still too sick to train, getting really grumpy reading all these happy comments about nice early morning rides. Ok, I'll go back into my little corner again and sulk a little bit more. All I know is I'm in for a lot of hurt once I get back on the bike: Sunday - tandem challenge vs Fatty & Smurf and also against De-al icecream maidens.... Next week Sunday: Bikemax tandem league ride, 1st attemt at riding tandem with the GF, Week after that, 3-day vets tour...... But like they say, no pain no gain.... I'll be back!
  3. So talking about tandems..... Anybody else joining us in setting up tandem teams for the Double Century? It's not everyday you get to be the 1st to try something new, so come be part of the fisrt ever tandem team time trial over a distance of 200km!
  4. Well we can always join you in the racing section, if they allow mixed tandems to join, we might just surprise a few people.....
  5. WW will be there. But sorry guys, I'll be riding a mixed tandem from now on....WorcesterWheelers2006-09-28 03:24:58
  6. Wish I had a problem of over training! got a week left with my hand in a cast, and just as I was getting back onto the indoor trainer to try and keep some sort of form, first I hurt my lower back and then spent the most of my long weekend sick as a dog with the flu! so next week when the cast comes off, its back to square 1 for me! guess the 3day vets tour is going to be one tough training weekend....
  7. Tour de Boland will not be sanctioned by PPA anymore, but according to Mrs. Cornelia Opperman the tour will still go ahead. For more details, you can contact her at; 072 - 4527234 so there might still be a tour for the "youngsters" yet....WorcesterWheelers2006-09-22 08:29:44
  8. nah' date=' got somehting much more effective, it's called "thehub" and it's free WW, why you using Polar softwear, is the PowerTap software lacking in functions? Can I do a interval setup with the PowerTap watch thingy?[/quote'] Donkey, haven't had time, pluis can't train at the moment any way (stuggling with bad back - probably cause of excess weight! , and also been sick for a few days now) so getting really frustrated at the moment! Haven't recieved the software from Johan, but got a copy directly from Polar, Harald Zumpt was here in CW on Tuesday night, giving us "Platteland" okeys a workshop... to answer Marius's questions. I still use my Polar for the mtb, and miss many of the features of the Polar software, especially the ability to load excercise routines via infrared and some of the dairy functions. But then again, I'm just not entirely clued up on all the functions that the Cycling peaks software has to offer. But no, unfortunately, you can load any intervals, you can only record them manually by pushing the two buttons simultaniously, and then you can go and look at the interval data afterwards.

  10. Bloemfontein I think?
  11. Hey toohot!!! Just be fore warned, its the Tour de BOLAND, so maybe we'll put in a few cattle grids again..... We've also got a really nice route that has a short gravel section in it, that is sure to spice things up a bit.....
  12. Ok, so now its time for the Elites & U/23 's to start making your pre-entry deposits right away! I'm pretty sure that if the numbers justify it, the race organisers and sponsors alike would love to accommodate the Elite's & u/23. After all they are the one's who actually have the time to train for these type of events.... How about it Francois, can't we do something like that, get some sort of refundable deposit from prospective elite's & U/23's. If the tour can't accomodate them, they get the deposit back. If the tour does cater for them, and a riders chickens out, he looses his entry fee?
  13. Unfortunately, it seems that the Tour de Boland will only be catering for Sub Vets, Vets, Masters & ladies, as the Tour de Boland is being help in conjunction with PPA in stead of the usual 3 dag Vets tour they host annually. So it looks like the elites & junoirs might loose out again, sorry guys. Will keep you all updated as I get any further information.
  15. Thanks Nellie and Fatty for coming up for me. As for "possession" of the photo Cervelo, its called "a search engine..." It's done like this, go to the FORUMS heading, click on "search" then enter the words... "Tom Boonen helmet" click on search.... KUL JOU HIER, KUL JOU DAAR EN SIEDAAR..... a photo of Tom Boonen !!!!
  16. Ok just because Nellie will be "bek af" tomorrow for missing all the Tour de worcester action, not to mention getting on the podium during the TT... Nellie a nice picture to help you also get your HR up... http://www.lazerhelmets.com/site/uploadedImages/Add_Newsitem/WEBAnn_Boonen.jpg
  17. Looks like Johan Reyneke - our star MTBer at the Deaf World Champs (and a club mate of WW). PPA says he came fourth. Well spotted Velouria. Yes that my boy! Johan worked REALLY REALLY hard on his mtb skills before the Deaf world champs, and his downhill capabilities, certainly helped him secure the mtb world title, plus plenty of remarks from fellow deaf riders about his downhill skills.
  18. If it's any consolation, I'm still recovering from a fall with the mtb (don't ask...) hand still in a cast for 4 more weeks, so I cant even race on my Bora's in my very own back yard on Saturday in the first PPA spring league race, the TOUR DE WORCESTER BUT! I might just make an appearance in the afternoon's TT, on my new TT bike (thanks 101%)
  19. I had a set of 303's and they were really nice, but the BORA'S I now use are absolutely awesome!!
