  1. I'm sure it means you can do any verifiable run/walk over 5km in distance
  2. So your dilemma is then whether to book economy or premium-economy class tickets to Boston? I find that the extra leg room is worth the extra bit of money, especially if you're going to run a marathon.
  3. Not an ASG event ????
  4. You can always cycle to the venue; nice warmup ????
  5. Point taken. So, @Tshwane Cycle organisers, seeing that you are already lurking on this forum, why don't you provide the real number of entrants as opposed to the "Utopia-what-we're0hoping-for" numbers you have been distributing?
  6. Some things need an apology, I would say this isn’t one of them
  7. 4.3. Who qualifies as a main member To be a main member of Vitality, you must make a monthly payment (or consent to a third party making the payment on your behalf) to Vitality for the programme and be one of the following:  A principle member of a medical scheme administered by Discovery Health  A policyholder of a Discovery Life policy paying a minimum premium of at least R350  An employee of an employer who has taken out Discovery Life Group Risk cover. At least 50% of the Group Risk Life Plan policy holders must also be members of a Medical Scheme administered by Discovery Health You are only allowed to have one Vitality policy, regardless of whether you have taken out more than one of the above products.
  8. I'll swap you... I'll get your company fuel card and you can fill up your car at Shell or BP with your credit card. Don't worry though, you can still use your Disco card too
  9. Much easier than 94.7; to give an indication, I did a 2:52 for Tshwane, 3:16 for 94.7 last year. That being said, the routehas changed slightly this year. One major climb to watch out for at around 80km mark (Tom Jenkins), short but brutal, saw LOTS of people walking there last year
  10. Agreed, I really hope this event gets traction though, enjoyed last year and only 7km from home. TBH, for purely selfish reasons, I'm not too disappointed in the low numbers, I'm starting to detest the 94.7 type events with 25000 people, just too much of a mission to get in and out. I do however understand that larger numbers will go a long way in ensuring that event's continuation next year.
  11. See entries have been extended to tonight
  12. Maybe they're counting the kiddies event, the mommies that brought the kiddies, the car guards and the ice cream men in the 6500 as well
  13. The last email I got from Cycle Events states 6500
  14. Agreed, although there is always the possibility as a couple of exceptions have shown. I suppose it should come down to evaluating doping results on a case by case basis; For me, Pro's and licensed riders should be held to a higher standard (ie more intense testing and in the event of any positive test, some serious explanation will be required); compared to average Joe out on his fun ride.
  15. That is not the definition of rant, it is the definition ranten, which is obsolete now btw ( Interesting how you chose to ignore the first 2 definitions on google and rather find one that fits your argument, however irrelevant) Anyway, back to the DISCUSSION, seeing that there is only 20 cases on the SAIDS site for doping, maybe there is no doping problem at all then
  16. I think you need to lookup the definition of “ranting”
  17. I dunno... I am a bit conflicted, I agree everyone should abide by the same rules and that cheaters should be sanctioned. However, applying the same penalty to tannie Marie doing her anual 94.7 fun ride while taking some cough medicine because she was feeling a bit flu-ish seems harsh. In all probability she didn’t even think to check whether it is a prohibited substance. Is it really in the best interest of the sport to ban tannie Marie who came in 19826th place in over 7 hours for her race. Seems a bit ridiculous
  18. Case in point, Kevin Moats in triathlon. 60-65 AG athlete, doped to the gills. https://www.tri247.com/triathlon-news/age-group/kevin-moats-second-doping-positive
  19. Maybe Max thought they were talking of a different Brandon Stewart. Like... the guy that played Captain Picard, he was also <something> Stewart
  20. So... peer pressured told and I have entered the big C. Was meant to do it this year but motivation was gone after Ironman. It’s going to be an interesting ride with a new bundle of joy arriving in December.... ????‍♂️
  21. Love it
  22. Max is that you?
  23. Clearly you are too lazy to do some reaearch yourself so here you go http://bfy.tw/KRql Now do us all a favour and go do some reading before commenting on something you evidently know nothing about, you are just embarrassing yourself at the moment
  24. I think you need to go read up on how the biological passport works
  25. “Argument from incredulity” logical fallacy; I don’t understand it, therefore it must wrong
