  1. I think you two need to re-evaluate your definition of "crawl". If you want to know what actual crawling entails, I'd be happy to assist . (It does not involve running a sub 4 marathon btw)
  2. This Garmin sheeple couldn’t care less; if you are one of those people that enjoy charging their watch daily instead of every 2 weeks who am I to stop you?
  3. Try clearing your browser cache; close browser, open browser and log in again
  4. Cool ideas ftw Currently I'm on Uncapped,unshaped 10/5 fibre @ R499 pm
  5. One more thing; remember to keep the other half happy (Well, as happy as you can). It's going to be a trying time; trust me, I almost ended up on the "Advice on Divorce" thread . My wife always tells the Ironman story like this: "When he wasn't running, he was swimming. When he wasn't swimming he was cycling. When he wasn't doing any of that, he was sleeping". Trying to juggle a family with Ironman training is tough, try to get her involve; take her along when running/cycling/swimming, even if it's just for a part of the session.
  6. Yeah, it needs to be a committed effort, otherwise you're in for a long day of suffering and no enjoyment. Don't start training in earnest too early, ramp up gradually. I only really put the hammer down in the new year which gives you roughly 3 months of training. However, in order to do that you need a solid base, so make sure you have that. I suggest getting a training programme from trainingpeaks or similar; a structured program from professional coach beats the hell out of "winging it" on your own
  7. I’m surprised, would have thought it would be seen as a manual activity. Oh well, good to have a back up plan for when flu strikes again ????
  8. Had the same a month ago; instead of 7 dodgy gym swipes (leaving me still 200 points short) I whip out my trusty (but dodgy) HR strap that clocks my heart at 190bpm while watching TV on the couch. I know I can probably do the old garmin HR trick where you wear it for a minute at high HR and then take it off, but I suspect Disco will find a way at some point to counter this
  9. Agreed... apparently I don’t even have a return for 2019 ????‍♂️
  10. I have the Sennheiser 4-50's and they're great. (Only difference between them is the noise cancelling) My only issue with them is that after a while of wearing them I do find my my ears get a bit sore. That is a good price though (The 4.50's were on sale a couple of months ago for approx R1600 I think)
  11. This must be the worst game board ever...littered with 25’s and no 100’s
  12. I don’t think it’s about penalizing; by definition the back 2 back medal is for an up and down. From Comrades site “The Comrades Marathon Back-to- Back medal was introduced in 2005 and henceforth was awarded to novice runners who complete an 'up or down run' in succession”.I do think you will still get a back 2 back even for 2 down runs, as was the case in 2009/2010.

Yeah, agree. He was asked on numerous occasions to return but decide on the evening of the squad announcement to come out of retirement?? Would have declined as well

  18. Ditto, ran with Asics Cumulus 19's; gave me endless issues with blue toenails. When I tossed them and upgraded to Cumulus 20's, I went half a size smaller and voila; No more blue toe nails.
  19. . Two words: Hill + training; and lots of it
  20. It might be that your timing is rubbish; I got one last week. I do check quite often what’s available though
  21. The front is not bad but the back seems a bit too much. However, that is a personal preference, I prefer understated shirts, not something that shouts out "I'VE DONE COMRADES". Sleeves seems to be a bit short too
  22. I just had a thought.... Is the world record attempt for breaking the best time to complete an Everest, or is it for number of times attempting to break the best time to complete an Everest?
