  1. Most things I consider easy I usually achieve on the first attempt. We must have different definition of easy (or it was those scrumptious vegan sausages and mielies that proved too much of a temptation) ????
  2. Yeah, that’s pretty lame, and by the looks of it this is the closest Mizuno got to anything “Comrades” related. The rest of the “limited edition” stuff is pretty much all generic Mizuno crap. No Comrades logo in sight on any of the items. Makes you wonder why they even bothered
  3. Comrades on telly again https://www.sport24.co.za/OtherSport/Athletics/confirmed-sabc-will-broadcast-comrades-marathon-20190507
  4. Maybe he’ll run on a treadmill this time ????
  5. I remember the awesome ASG weekly auctions; bought a number of items through them. Sadly, this seems to be something of the past

  7. Ditto... 48km of unadulterated fun awaits
  8. “ pays off in the long run.” I see what did there.
  9. Come on little thread... you're not dead, you can do it!
  10. One word: "gloves"
  11. Wow, what a cool idea. Makes you wonder why no one has thought of it before. I wonder how runner 1 is going to get back to civilization as I assume there will be road closures.
  12. Did the Buco Bobbies 21km in Pretoria (Starts in Hatfield now) this weekend. Not many people which was great, didn’t have to fight through crowds of people. Nice race, course covered the infamous Tom Jenkins twice (although luckily ascending from Union buildings side) still felt the effects from Vaal marathon a week ago, heart rate was elevated even though I was going fairly slowly.
  13. Yeah, had it for a while, cleared up about a month ago. Annoying as anything; what worked for me: massage it well every night by rolling first on a soft ball like a tennis ball and then on a solid ball like a hockey or cricket ball. Hurts like hell. Also, stretch your achilles and calf muscles well. Lastly, reduce mileage for a little while (I took a week off by running only short distances on grass) Anti inflammatories helped, but only for a day or so, as soon as I did a longer run it was back to square one
  14. If you want the best just cut to the chase and get yourself a pair of Sennheiser HE1. At roughly $55000 they’re worth every penny (so they say). https://youtu.be/y4c9x3xBRsY
  15. If you are looking for true wireless, They dont come any better than Jabra Elite Active 65t. Pricey though
  16. Re the Sennheiser 4.50. Yeah, got a pair for half price (about R1500) sound quality very good, battery life great. Controls could be a bit better on them. Noise canceling works but not in the same league as Bose. Can get a bit warm on the ears with extended play but generally comfortable. Very durable although I bought a separate hard case for it (R100 from Musica) as it only comes with a little bag and I carry them around in my laptop bag. Would have preferred real leather instead of the faux stuff they put on and they could do with a little more padding. IMO very good value for money, but not quite the same quality as Bose or B&W (love both of these but couldnt justify spending that much more on a pair of headphones) (way better than the beats though)
  17. Welcome to a special kind of hell; I’ve had this exact same problem for over a year. I hope for your sake that once your issue is resolved, it is resolved for good. I’ve had to log the same query upwards of ten times in the last year. The issue gets resolved for that month but re-occurs the following month, starting the evil cycle all over again
  18. 2019 started the same as 2018 ended.... logging queries; 3 already for the year a) Vitality Status still on gold, meant to be on Diamond b) Shoebooster for December not paid c) Driverscore for discover insure October->December not calculated at all. Anyone else having so many issues with Disco?
  19. Haha, we do this as well, me with Disco and Woolies card in hand with the healthy stuff, wife behind me with all the rubbish and cheque card. Amazing how it changes your healthy basket rating
  20. Yup, I can confirm, mine has been rolling over seamlessly every year since I joined
  21. No... that doesn't help (my finances) at all. Going to close my browser now.
  22. I feel your pain... Try getting an 8 month pregnant woman to log activities... recipe for divorce I tell you. You can still make it though, go do the stupid assessments (Health assessment should be good for at least 15000 depending on her health statistics, fitness assessment can make up for missing activities up to a max of 30000 depending on her fitness level. Even if she's not fit at all, you will still get a lot of points) Don't let your Diamond status lapse, I did 3 years ago and have been cursing myself for it ever since. I am now 1000 points away from being Diamond again
  23. So tempting.... Repeat after me... My Fenix 3 is awesome... don't need anything else... it does everything I need
  24. That's hilarious, I'm actually crying with laughter. On the bright side; very much against expectations, my objection has succeeded and SARS will pay out my travel claim (Probably only some time in the next 3 months though )
