  1. There must be quite a weight and cost difference between the two
  2. Apprently you can get the Tytan 29R Pro for like three garnd more. That is alot of bang for your buck. Full XT groupset and No Tubes Arch EX wheelset (with XT hubs). Just the wheelset and Groupset is worth R 13000.
  3. What time are you looking at. We have a group of 4 guys that go 2-3 times a week. Avg between 18-20 kph and distance approx 40 km. we leave at 16:30 in summer from Emmarentia dam. You are welcome to join us. The group will operational from next week again
  4. Jeesh dude that is one Epic ride!
  5. You can get the X-lite rigid fork from Grant. I got one from him and loving it. Rigid fork availability is vastly dependant on whether the frame has a tapered headtube or straight. If it is tapered you can get the fork below from one-one for silly money (R1800 excluding shipping) http://on-one.co.uk/...red_carbon_fork
  6. Awesome bike Firemeister!
  7. Instead of this bike, check out this one: https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/44881-2012-carbon-kikker-ultra-light-medium-17inch/ R6000 cheaper and you can sell the drivetrain.
  8. Go Check out these in the classifieds section. Seems like a no brainer for your purposes. https://www.bikehub.co.za/classifieds/40157-prolite-veleta-29er-wheelset/
  9. If you are looking at carbon you could consider the Lurcher from On-One with matching Rigid fork. It comes with horizontal dropouts. You can get the frame and fork landed in SA for approx R 9000.00
  10. Yes, quite hectic. There used to be a bridge there that made it rideable
  11. Thanks. I came across these. Will they work? http://www.probikeshop.com/stronglight-ct-chainring-2xaa-4-arms-aa2-mm/70893.html
  12. I will be doing the 94.7 on my Scott Scale 29. The only problem is that the 38 tooth chainring is going to be way to small for tar purposes. What are my options. I have 32 and 44 chainrings that came of a 3x10 XO Chainset. Will these chainrings fit onto the 2x10 crank? What other options do I have? Do you get even bigger chainrings that will be compatible?
  13. Oh yes expect to pay about R3500
  14. NonTapered Niner forks are as scarce as hens teeth. But Dangle is the man to find you one.
  15. The Thule agency in Beyers Naude is just as good. Always get snappy and professional service. Wheelsuck I dont think there is anyone that has a proride that hasn't driven into something. My best is completely taking out the Kfc drive thru height board with my bike
  16. Could also have been placed by an angry dog walker. They regard that area of the park as "their" domain.
  17. Go Burry!!!
  18. Jeesh whats happened to burry?
  19. That quote from Chris Boardman, nogal. Should stick to track cycling commentating
  20. Been posted before in the Single Speed Thread.
  21. AWESOME!!!! One more gold for SA in Mens Lightwieght four rowing. Congrats guys
  22. Welcome to the hub Jacques. I can can concur re their service. Always friendly and professional.
  23. Hi Ross You are right. If you add the grass sigle track of 1.7km at 29km to your route it ends up almost exactly the same distance as mine
  24. I assume you were riding a dual suss. Not so much fun on a rigid single speed
  25. Richard. The guy actually said route 3 is a total of 45km's and I am missing 2k's of it. Areas of note: At about 22km on my route the route actually splits with two arrows. If you go right it cuts out a chunk and you stay close to the river and cross over a new wooden bridge. If you go left it takes you back up to the top again and then back down to the other side of the wooden bridge. At about 29km there is a new single track cut in the grass (cut in the last 2 weeks) of 1.7km. At about 36km on the way back on the main gravel road there is a route 3 marker on the left that takes you down again and then up over a small dam wall for a further 5km's
