  1. SJS Cycles online have a pretty good selection of Shimano spares, it's always the first place I look if I can't find locally. Otherwise @Loose cog makes hoods. Check if he's got the ones you're after.

https://irmfit.co.za/ Best I've found so far. Although to be fair I haven't looked since I've been to her cos I haven't needed to.
  3. Ryder is an Omnico brand, who have been in the helmet game since the Topsport helmets of the 80s and 90s. I'd trust it.
  4. Only the Transmission comes with a clutch, OG AXS the clutch is part of the P knuckle and is not serviceable. If it's stuck, new RD.
  5. They do sell a variant with a lifetime guarantee, but you're in for R 2k a bearing for those ones...
  6. Zero and Cure both do full complement bearings for pivots, but in my experience you'll end up replacing them sooner than the Enduros, so the labour will end up costing more then the saving you'll make. Same goes for using standard single row deep groove bearings - they're designed to rotate, not oscillate, and as such will wear out quicker. SKF, NTN etc do indeed make better quality bearings, but to find full complement you're going to be trawling through catalogues and calling suppliers for days and probably still not find what you're looking for locally - and they'll be 3x the price of the Enduros anyway. There are a few companies in Europe that do kits with decent bearings, but you'll again be paying a premium and having to deal with international shipping. Maybe there's an engineer on here who can point you in another direction, I'll be happy to be proven wrong on this.
  7. Thanks Zebra - can confirm, I can sort it out.
  8. If RS Dynamic Seal Grease will work, I have a bunch of it - I get 10x as much as I need with every RS shock seal kit I buy And I buy a lot of seal kits. Free to collect. Bring a wheelbarrow.
  9. SJS Cycles online is the best source for random Shimano spares like this.

  11. Another vote for the Instinct - I have the 2x. Nothing fancy in the screen department but does everything I need it to and the battery lasts a month. If you want touch screen and leave your phone at home options you'll need to spend a lot more, but for my use case the Instinct ticks all the boxes.
  12. You get bike racks (Karoorack being one) that plug straight in to the 2" receiver you have. If you'd rather have the ball on the end that extension won't be difficult to fabricate.
  13. The Lyne post is good, but it's not Fox good. If you're weight-conscious or want to use the same battery across all components, Fox or RS are the way to go as long as you're willing to throw some more cash at the problem. Goes back to my original point about where the cost/benefit peaks for your particular use case. If I just wanted one less cable cos I had some hackish ebike routing issues (Levo G2, Scott, Trek etc) the Lyne would be the sweet spot cos it does the job more than well enough for me, support is top drawer and I'm not a weight weenie.
  14. I have one. Doesn't go beep boop though.
  15. Child's play by comparison. Those Patrons are a leading cause of alcoholism among bike mechanics.
  16. Wait till you encounter a Scott Patron. That wireless post will pay for itself in one cable change. OP - Fox posts are good. Maybe not before the inflection point of the diminishing returns curve, but there are plenty of people who'll buy XX1 instead of GX even though they're almost identical in terms of function. If you like nice things...
  17. Once you have the chain on it'll sort itself out. Max capacity of that RD is 30t.
  18. I also suspect that as with most of the cheaper inserts this will absorb 10x its weight in sealant.
  19. Some models just have an offset upper clamp - I don't have a database of the various parts since Cannondale release exactly zero service info on any of their proprietary components. In general dampers have more travel than they use to accommodate different air spring configurations, but I wouldn't put it past Cannondale to have size specific parts.
  20. If they're the same model we can swap the upper tube around at service time if it's the wrong size. OP - sounds like you're dealing with some bearing issues at minimum, so Robert's option will be a good shout. We haven't been able to get spares for those for quite a while now, and even the overseas sites don't have them listed anymore. Your other option is to fit a standard fork - will cost you up front, but will be a whole lot easier to live with going forward.
  21. My guess is they're trialling some AI solution to number recognition and allocation and it's more artificial than intelligent at this stage...
  22. If the 4mm hex doesn't solve the problem the cartridge is blown and needs replacing. 275 and 29 cartridges are in stock with the agents, 26 are not.
  23. Will file this in my ever growing stash of arcane bike info, cheers. Just realised that my Cotic frame is 135mm OLD, no doubt for this exact reason. Glad you found a solution.
  24. They don't have overheads though... Earnings and charge out rate are 2 VERY different things.
  25. Disconnect the remote from the bars to give enough slack in the cable, and pull the post out. The cable will follow - you can then disconnect the cable from the actuator on the bottom of the post. How you do this will depend on the post, but it's not a difficult thing to figure out.
