  1. Sounds freaking awesome... I still want a classic machine! One day when I can treat myself....
  2. Speak to naas, I know he said he would honor it in the last thread regarding mavics... From October to end November. And if you don't want the training wheels, let me know and i may take em off your hands;)
  3. Don't forget the promotion on mavics where you buy a race wheelset and get a set of training wheels for a £1 extra...
  4. It'd called a loofah... Not sure of spelling... Haha
  5. I take a shower with my helmet once in a while... Normal soap scrub on the straps and the pads get machine washed. Keeps it sparkling. Did some research a while back and almost all solvents and a lot of alkaline products are not advised on helmets as they may affect the polystyrene or plastic...
  6. I have found that riding in traffic is as much telling cars what to do than to anticipate. Show them when to go and hold an arm out when they need to wait... Remember they see you as an unpredictable entity like you do! So show them you're awake and you'll take your lane and turn. Indicate and look drivers in the eye. Always stop at lights and stop streets. And ALWAYS SAY THANK YOU to drivers who are considerate. They'll be far more likely to do so next time! Loved my commute to a conference on Saturday morning... Best idea I had, and felt so much better than my coworkers!
  7. Those super cheap Cratoni helmets have a 50% crash warrantee too. And have extra pads. And have a bug net. And have a mtb and road range. And are sold from a shop which, in my opinion, has service levels hard to beat... Just saying man
  8. They had a bunch of them for 300 bucks the other day too... I'm sure there is still stock left. I got two road helmets and have to agree, awesome fit, light as hell and they look great... Made in Germany. Deal of the year for me!
  9. Rear derailleur alignment is out. And possibly limits as well if the chain fell off. Take it to your lbs if you can't adjust it yourself. Problem should be sorted.
  10. You know, I appreciate the honesty... And understand we're not all perfect. But I have just one problem. When is it ever safe to go through a red light? Again, my problem is, the way the motorists gain an opinion of cyclists is by their behaviour. We are well known for this nonsense, and it needs to change. Only way we can make it safer, is all of us doing our best on our own.
  11. They were informed of their misdeeds when they were in a close enough range to hear. Of course, no one likes being told they were naughty, so it's either met wih a finger, or they carry on as if they didn't hear. Don't accuse me of not trying to help. I try as much as possible and this is a frustrated reminder. Your post will simply aid each one of the offenders to feel justified or excused in their actions. But hey, this is the Internet where you can be a complete tool and not face any consequences. So I hope your post will not dilute the intent of this thread. And the generalisation? This is exactly how motorists feel about an issue. That's why it was conveyed as such...
  12. For sure. We should also use hand signals and pass other vehicles on the right, and only when safe to do so... Unfortunately a lot of tools ruin my favourite sport and put me at risk with their behaviour... I guess I've calmed down a tad now but mighty annoying to witness...
  13. Because the problem is the attitude shown by these individuals is the exact attitude that causes motorists to be intolerant. When you go through a red robot while cars are watching, they take note. And they complain to friends. And they point it out to their kids. And it breeds disgust. Now me, as a law abiding cyclist, gets the same reputation as those asshats. Which then gets me killed. IF WE WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE VEHICLES, WE NEED TO ACT LIKE THEM! This isn't an attitude that we can just allow. Because it hurts everyone.
  14. Because clearly you can't stop at ******* red robots! Gees like it! We read about all the damn cyclists knocked down every day, but you won't bother to keep the rules? Sure, I get it... You don't want to stop riding... It's *** having to shift down and back up and pull off and it interrupts your rythym. But what do you think goes through the mind of the patiently waiting motorist when you fly past them on the left through a red? Doesn't matter that you know there won't be cars there. FU*KING STOP! you ruin our reputation for everyone! And don't you MTB boys say "damn roadies again". You're just as bad when you're on the tar. Actually, what he he'll are you doing on the tar in the first place? Didn't you buy an off road bike to go off the road? Rant done for the morning. Thanks to all the click heads out there around modderfontein and Sandringham, bedfordview and isando who didn't give a sh*t about anyone's safety. You crotchpheasants.
  15. Yeah no excuses here. This sucks to see, when I had such an awesome day on the bike today. To the cyclist: get back on and keep peddling... Don't let this put you off!
  16. Hi there! I did take the standard 45s. Feet would normally fit the Sidi 44 mega size, I need a wide shoe! I took my normal size, and wore them for a day. 44 was too tight. 45? Perfect! They have a bath tub like carbon sole, which again is heat moldable, so there's none of that stretching the side or foot spilling over the sole, like I've had before. Feels like they really engineered the shoes. The ratchet system sucks. Only down side but you can live with it.
  17. My favourite thing with this thread is people who are probably riding bikes worth over 10k at least, wearing kit costing around 6k, excluding cool extras, are batching about 400 bucks for an entry.... Really? That's like half a tyre. But you'll smile walking out the lbs. Don't ride if you're going to be a tight arse. Go train at the cradle while we get the roads all to ourselves.
  18. Hey man, Can't help due to distance, but I have the bont riot shoes. I have a wide foot and High arches, this shoe fits like a glove. If you look online, order one size bugger than usual, and it's very true. Heatmouldable so they will fit anyway after an few moulds, but for lengths, get a size bigger than usual. They are super stiff though and a great fit and finish.. Hope that helps!
  19. Pm me when you have a price decided asbi would be interested. Don't want extra wheelset or computer. You would get more for wheels on their own.
  20. You know they're not going to contribute... They did fokol for fire and they're going to conveniently "not see" this thread either...
  21. Spez tarmac?
  22. The simple (and sad) fact is, they charge what they do cause they can. And we pay it. How can you tell me that a top end bike costs more than my car? R&D? How does making small adjustments ija mould compare to all the testing done on my polo? Materials? 1kg of carbon vs 1.2 tons of various metals, plastics and glass? It's not even like they engineer the gears, or wheels. It's BS man, but it happens cause we're stupid enough to pay! You can cycle cheap, if you're patient and willing to do the work, and driving around. And my advice? NEVER TRUST AN LBS! The amount of times I was screwed over by very reputable stores because I was a noob was ridiculous. And unfair. But I guess if your son wins tour De France stages you can sleep at night.
  23. Which one do you like the most? Buy that one.
