  1. That is a worrying thought, especially if angry.
  2. And because they will walk into somewhere like Sportsmans Warehouse and see an array of 29 inch wheels, a few 650b and kicking around somewhere a 26'er that the staff steer them away from because it's "old and just for beginners/poor people".
  3. Holy hell.
  4. Good grief man are you trying an exotic new method of suicide? Death by Hub mob...
  5. Wasn't the worry up there that it might have more slope slip and carry someone with it?
  6. Thats my day sorted for tomorrow then although I did a lot of wimping and squealing after riding through a puddle last week. It was a tad colder than expected and it appears that my assimilation to SA weather is almost complete. Really starting to dislike the cold.
  7. He does fish a lot and often reels in a whale or two.He must be really fun away from here...
  8. Jeez, where was that?
  9. I nearly did once and if I hadn't glanced back at just the right moment I would have missed the sneaky bugger working its way slyly towards a hiding place in the bushes. Got to keep an eye on the sneaky sods...
  10. Where did you get that figure from? Even at 5% that gets you an income of around R100k a month. Given a half decent investment that can easily be doubled.
  11. The item below was dropped in the bushes at Tokai on the climb up to Mamba. http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r251/mss-65/20140613_122854_zps866f9fa4.jpg Please get hold of me so that I can personally hand it back. I mean seriously what sort of fully functioning adult actually thinks its okay to throw punctured tubes away in a nature conservation area? And we wonder why Parks and other user groups get upset with us...
  12. Tokai on a stunning winters day
  13. Dont forget the horse riders. Had to ask two of them to turn back from Fairy Garden today, which to be fair to them they did. There could be an interesting collision one day where a runner is found under the body of a horse thats been impaled with a mtb. The riders of the horse and bike will be found close by arguing over who cleans up the mess.
  14. Remember its only fun until somebody gets hurt, then its hysterical fun.
  15. Some nice work up there and it seems to have held up well to the rain so far.
  16. Normally put two complete bikes standing in the back of the landy but on the days when I remember what petrol costs I take a tin opener to the wifes 206. Have managed to fit both bikes, three people and a shed load of shopping into that little shoebox. Drop the larger section of the back seat and remove bikes front wheels. Seperate the bikes with an old judo mat and await hissy fit when wife sees all the mud in the car. Works like a charm.
  17. Sorry I got there so late - will try harder next time.
  18. How the hell did this explode? The answer is simple. Kidnap some runners and use them as a forced labour chain gang on the next build day. The ones that have been forced to work gain an appreciation of the work that goes into making an maintaining the tracks and the rest will be terrified of being next on the chain gang. Free labour and awareness all in one. Its a winner I tell you...
  19. You simply cannot compare the two situations. There is a time and place to put it all on the line and while your example probably is one of those times what happened in the robbery that started this thread is not.
  20. Pretty sure its a choice of a medal or the wine this year.
  21. There is always a self defence option but boy you better be well trained, have a mean streak a mile wide and practice a hell of a lot when the odds are against you like that. If it goes wrong you just dont get to try again ever.
  22. I was working on the assumptipn that Momsen didnt have the advertising and PR budget akin to that of an oil emirate. Unlike Specialized who can spend with the best of them.
  23. Help me out a bit here, what does it say?
