  1. Hi Dillon. Thanks for this info. You are obviously one of the professionals. The R45 is probably and average out figure for all the photographers. You also find those that sit on a bridge with a remote trigger in their hands, and just click away when the crowd passes in front of them. I don't know what the solution is, but have seen that on most of my photos, this is what the approach has been.
  2. Hi. for that amount of money, bring the bike back and make a list of your issues. They get one chance to fix everything to your satisfaction. Failing this, please let us know who it is? I would not want to bring my bike there
  3. because of 2cm ................... I've just ordered my skates, and i'm going to put a cyclelab sticker on them
  4. Big ups for apologizing buddy but here's a thought starter - and its not Friday yet! Big down for everything else ... Wouldn't it have been decent to actually stop and possibly assist ? Not saying that it was your fault (that's besides the point) - but you were involved. Not 100% sure of the traffic laws in S.A. - but anywhere in Europe, this constitutes a "hit and run"
  5. " Ok seems like the LHS of the sidewalk is dual usage (shared bike / pedestrian) " what agteros said, while looking at the photo ... Exactly People - lets be nice to each other. The cyclist coming from behind, has no right to ask the person to move over ... and the pedestrian can extend a courtesy, to move over, to let the cyclist through. Peace -
  6. We also absolutely hate road riding, due to other people showing up with the wrong equipment.
  7. Keen, and agree with comments above, needs to be over a long weekend, and roads are quieter.

    Cycling PIGS

That's because you don't need any "drugs" to do Chappies
  10. The first person to be wrong is the car driver. He is encroaching the cycling lane. If you notice the cyclist chase down the car to the next intersection, he does nor encroach the bus lane on the left. Then he is wrong by shouting on the left and then right hand side of the car. Shouting, which probably was not even heard inside the car, as the side windows were not even opened. As the passenger climbed out, I would have definitely zapped him with pepper spray, as it now becomes self defence.
  11. Hi Eldron. Firstly, if you read my complete post, i'm one of those do gooders. But it pisses me off, when I see the "cool" crowd wanting help when it suits them. A quick look at them, will allow you to spot their attitude. If they are busy trying to help themselves with objects in their hand, then I stop.
  12. I think you missed my most important point ... "From when I discovered in cycling circles, that its "not cool" to carry a pump, or a saddlebag," enough said
  13. From when I discovered in cycling circles, that its "not cool" to carry a pump, or a saddlebag, I will first notice if the "unfortunate rider" has either of these ? If not, they can then "cool off" on the side of the road. Otherwise I have even stopped to help someone during a race, even losing out on my own better time. The rule of, if you don't want to help yourself and plan, then I wont help.
  14. I try and greet, head nod, or wave to people acknowledging me on the road. Only time I might miss, if i'm on a vertical uphill, with sun very strong, and lungs outside my ribcage
  15. Hello Ruan. Sorry I don't know much detail on MTB's, but you're undecided between a Volkswagen or a Ferrari ???
  16. Ok guys, where can I get a similar injury at the cradle ?
  17. you're worried about the inner tube an not the RADIATION ??? Koeberg and NATURE RESERVE do not go well together.
  18. Hello - sorry, my language ... not very good. I look in dictionary for little help. litter - is a group of little baby animals littering - when the group of little baby animals is being made chops - is way of saying big steak in local language So in SudAfrica you have big steaks that make babies in the road ??? Now I understand why you have many lions in the road

    Events Calendar 2014

The Excel spreadsheet that you can download from the CSA website is usually very complete. I suppose they just need time, as everyone has just returned from the holidays. I'm also waiting on them to confirm my membership.
  23. Aren't pedestrians, cycles and small motorcycles below 150cc banned from highways, and the minimum speed limit is 40km/hr?
  24. This is interesting for use of bicycles in war ...... "Italian cycling champion Gino Bartali was recognised as “Righteous Among the Nations” by the Israeli museum of Yad Vashem, which has formally added him onto the honour list of the gentiles who helped Jews escape the Holocaust, media reported Monday. Yad Vashem wrote on its website that the three-time Giro d’ Italia champion and two-time Tour de France winner, who died aged 85 in 2000, “came to play an important role in the rescue of Jews” during World War II, Xinhua reported citing media reports. Tuscany-born Bartali acted as a courier for a Jewish-Christian network set up following the 1943 German occupation in Italy, transporting forged documents hidden in the frame of his bicycle, though he knew that he was risking his life. This network saved the lives of hundreds of Jews, the Holocaust memorial said adding that Bartali never spoke of his underground work after the war and hence many of his courageous endeavours remained unknown. Bartali will be honoured in a ceremony in Italy which has yet to be scheduled. His son Andrea said that he and his mother have been invited by the Israeli government for a cycling event named after the champion next month." Dated Sept 2013
