  4. Sign me up, super keen.... a mate of mine will also be very eager to learn more - so thats two from my side.
  5. sheezas boet that is so funny - yet true. That Giulietta was a head turner when it first came out.
  6. agreed, like owning a Ferrari and then you put a roof bike carrier on it....
  7. ja hey Rouxtjie, I have certainly gone through the love hate relationship episode, which Alfa did you have?
  8. eish, being a very proud Alfa Romeo owner, I can certainly say that it is like dating a super model - very lekker for your mates to check out, but moerse expensive to keep happy - my baby is an oldie, the 156 GTA, and apart from donating a kidney, left arm and spleen when the cambelt service is due, she runs like a demon.... As Jeremy Clarkson said "you cant call yourself a true petrol head unless you have owned an Alfa"
  9. I just love how everyone rallys together to help a brother / sister out. It is really an honour to be a part of such "awesomeness" FrancoisC - I know that everyone has offered you a replacement phone, but if for whatever reason they fall through, let me know - the wife will be upgrading in the next few days and her iPhone4 will be going spare. And yes, please do consider going for trauma councelling - and by that I mean, as the the great Freddy Mercury once said "Get On Your Bike And Ride" - jokes aside, go see someone bud...
  10. left and right ball shall be given to get my hands on this baby...

Running Ardent up front and Crossmark on the rear - as Rouxtjie said, the Crossmarks are bomb proof but a bit on the heavy side (especially on WTB iFrequency hoops) but this combo is serving me well. Used to run Crossmarks up front, but I found that the front would washout pretty easily - so loving that grippy Ardent on the front
  12. the devil is in the detail........ i know a guy like yourself, he did a lot of high profile armed escourting in and out of Iraq - you okes a tough bastards - big respect to you......
  13. Unless your name is Chuck Norris, Charles Bronsen or Buce Willis - stay calm, hand over the material items that can be replaced, then take a trap home to see your wife and kids - en route home, say a little thanks to your gaurdian angels. I am sure that there are many guys with Roneblack46 skills, and would have mowed them all down and continued with their ride, however, for every 1000 people, there may be one such skilled person - and thats a big maybe. Anyways, Roneblack46, is Oscar guilty and going to jail for a long time?
  14. will be my third, not so sure about doing a set time, legs are feeling moeg after the Magalies Monster...
  15. What a lekker ride that was. As mentioned before, did the 45km as I am a chicken and it was my first time. Day started bad, we were staying at Peacanwood and as we got to the venue in the morning, realised I had left both of my 32GI water bottles at home . Ok not the end of the world, knowing we would get a free bottle so could at leadt have that filled with municipal gin. So, as I roll into WP1, look down, bottle gone . Had to almost over consume water to keep me going till the next WP. Cramping started badly in the hammies and quads at around 22km, and with that my goal of a sub 3hr went out the window. Cramped like a mofo right up unitl the end, actually fell off my bike at the finish line - I was kaput. Cool, excuses out the way, now.... Sense of accomplishment, hell yeah, even if I was a chicken and did the 45km that medal was like receiving an award for summiting Mt Everest. Downhill sections, man for me it was like I died and went to heaven - loved every single bit of downhill Will I be back next year, well as my Magalies Monster virginty has been broken, come hell or high water, better your bottom dollar I will be back. I will be so back next year, I am doing the Full Monster Big up to all hubbers that finished, well done guys and gals.....
  16. think i found the perfect song for this event......
  17. Fork definately, you will save weight as well as have a more responsive front end that will handle a lot better. Look at something like a Rock Shox Recon Gold or Reba, cant go worng and a good starting point. Overtime you can upgrade the rest IMHO
  18. good question indeed,
  19. giving your age away there mate by quoting martino die kulkunstenaar.
  20. holy cow, rouxtjie you managed to get coffee come out of my nose - sheezas that is too funny for words.....
  21. sounds like his objective was achieved, all the ladies swarmed around him to see if he was ok -
  22. not cycling related, but still a funny story. Way back in high school, we were palying against Potch boys and we were trailing by a small margin, our 2nd centre makes a break, but was so worried about who was chasing him down, he crossed a white line, took a massive leap to score a try. He got up hands in the air, but was confused why we were all hurling abuse at him - the chop took a spectacular dive on the 22 line?? So could not get worse right, well it does, 2nd half, the idiot goeas and does the same thing Needles to say, he was dropped from the side......
  23. well done WesleyR,
  24. lekker soos n krekker - to all doing the Monster, ride your metal / alloy / carbon pony like it was intended to be ridden. Ride Hard, Ride Safe......
