  1. if he does as you suggest, I doubt he will be FAKING a depression
  2. shouting "track" on a single track where there is typically no room to go is just silly. Like Hennie VR says, if you think you are that good, you will find a way past. Actually, if you are just that good, you should be starting up front with the main manne / vrouens - and we will check you out on the podium after the race. Whether shouting "track is right or wrong is one thing, verbally abusing a 10yr old kid is a whole different story.
  3. reminds me of the bikes at www.rattrodbikes.com
  4. Linden Cycles - 011 782 7313 - Jared, Wolfgang (Wolfie) or Edo - have always helped me out and offered good advice (2nd of course to my fellow hubbers)
  5. great LBS and Alex is a very helpful guy - he is the owner......
  6. Its pretty legit, an ex colleague of mine works for them now, she is based in Dubai with the task of setting up the UAE division. But yeah, Lyoness is another way of saying Amway - only difference is that with Lyoness at least you can make use of it as you buy from the stores you normally buy from - unlike Amway which is their exclusive range and only through them. Either way, not really interested,
  7. always is
  8. have you ever heard or Ratt Rod Bicycles - your find is the perfect project.... check out this link http://www.ratrodbikes.com/?page_id=30
  9. I agree, if it is me alone on an uphill, and there is more than enough space for a bus to go past me on the right, then shouting "track" is a little silly. However, if there is two of you, cycling side by side, and there is not enough space to pass, then shouting "track" I think is in order. Keeping in mind, this is a 10yr old we are talking about, overtaking for us grown ups, who have had a lot more time in the saddle and have the confidence to perhaps overtake two cyclists that are next to each other, by maybe going between the two or whatever - is a lot easier than a 10yr old that perhaps feels intimidated and would only like to pass in a safe manner (what they deem safe). I really do agree with you - but I think there is no excuse for verbally abusing a 10yr old.....
  10. I am guessing lone and Coetzee.jacque@gmail.com (the only person like lone' thread) have been dropped by many 10yr olds - perhaps even at Northerns recently? Did you guys perhaps miss out on competing at the recent XCO World Champs and are now sulking? lone and Coetzee.jacque@gmail.com - guys, get a life, you do not own cycle parks, and you should really grow up? Maybe you should own your own cycle park, and then invite all the other knobs to come join you guys for a verbal abuse ride - should be fun? Then when the first of you idiots reach the top of your 100m climb and it has taken you 30min to do so - shout, at the top of your lungs - STRAVA!!! King Of The Mountain!!!! The cycling world really does not need your bad attitude and overall *** sportsmanship, now go away, leave us true cyclists alone and go drag race your chinas in your Beemers outside the local roadhouse. And when I mean drag race, yes, I do mean wear a dress and lipstick when you do so.
  11.
  12. Volvo, good reason why the Swedes are pioneers in passenger and now pedestrian safety.... this should be standard on all motor vehicles.
  13. looks like an XS frame with 29er wheels
  14. I have also heard hairspray works a treat? I have Ritchley Foam grips, just soaked them in warm water for a seconds and then a bit of elbow grease and they were on. They have been in place firmly ever since - no whisky throttle
  15. the infamous Avid Turkey Gobble. I used to have Tektro brakes on my MTB, and simply could not pass up on a good deal to "upgrade" the brakes to Elixer 5's. So, bought the brake set, had my LBS fit them and from day one, that bloody Turkey Gobble began - it got even worse when the brakes were wet. My LBS re-aligned, replaced rotors, yet that goddam turkey would just not bugger off. I finally decided to set aside an entire Saturday and attempt to see if I could find the turkey, and wring its frikken neck. So, removed the callipers, took out the old pads, gave them a good clean and a light sand. Cleaned up the inside of the callipers, re-assembled and went for a test ride. At first I thought I had managed to kill the turkey - but as that thought was going through my mind, the little bugger reared its head But this got me thinking, cleaned the pads, noise went away (for about 1km) and then came back - so I then headed off to my LBS, bought a new set of pads for the front and back, installed them, and I sh*t you not - the turkey gobble was gone. It has been around 300km since I replaced these pads and not a peep So, as a previous Huber suggested, lightly sand the rotors, and I would suggest replacing the pads - follow the bedding in of the pads process - and I think you will be sorted. Good luck
  16. did the 25km (which was really 21.2km) - awesome event, fantastic turnout, and the glass at the finish was pretty cool instead of a medal. I agree, not sure what there is to Rant about, more like a Rave....

  21. what a bunch of knobs, they certainly look like they have huge chips on their shoulders.
  22. If one elects not to wear ones lid on a ride, well then, frankly, its your noggin not mine. Being a parent, I often see parents cruising around with the kids not strapped up in their car seats, but either sitting on the front seat or moms lap. Is it safe, no I don't think it is, does it irritate me that some people can be so irresponsible - yes it does, do I get out of my car at the next traffic light to give those parents a stern talking to - no I don't. Circle of concern, vs circle of influence. Does it concern me (worry me) that some people will ride without a lid, yeah of course it does, do I have any influence over making them wear a lid, no I don't. I have seen enough serious head injuries and that is with guys wearing their lids, enough reason for me to wear one.
  23. not sure I get the point of this bike? I like the brand, I own one, but the new additions like the 429 and this one, I don't think are going to fly off the shelf..... trying too hard my guess is, trying too hard to be everything to everyone......
  24. Is Clean Green not an abrasive cleaning agent? I use Prepsol, and works like a charm....
