  1. You can let your wife ride alone in Groenies any time Very safe. Fountains is ok but I wil not ride there alone in the week. Weekends with a buddy should be fine. The only muggin there(Fountains) recently was in Oct last year.
  2. Muslim or not.....out there we are all of the same religion called MTB'ing!!! So even though I am not Muslim, here goes..... WHATZUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Ok, so now it makes for Morewoods: me, Dirt-rider, Rouxtjie, DMD 1, SwissVan and counting.....
  4. It seems like a bit of a patern that is forming here........ Everybody with Morewoods seem to ride their shox "open"??? (That is me, Rouxtjie, DMD 1)
  5. Mine is always open: on climbs, single track, decends. I only put it in pro-pedal if it is REALY flat district roads(stage races) or one loooooooooooonnnngggg jeep track climb like the Mpumalanga/Sabie/Baberton climbs.
  6. This is what gets me about the hub! "Stay away from this one and that one, Mr. X is the new wonder kid, use this and that natural cr@p, etc, etc....". Says the one that doesn't know that EBV=Glandular Fever=Mononeucleosis=Kissing's disease and that the symptoms of this viral infection is severe fatigue, sore and swollen glands, myositis(sore muscles) and sometimes fever-blister-like sore's in the mouth. Please note that there is a reason why top international athletes go to the HPC @ Tuks and not to dr. who-ever in where-ever.
  7. Welcome and congrats!!! See you are from PTA? Let some one who knows Groenies take you there and show you the briliant single track around! You will soon be addicted
  8. ???? So you are one of those........
  9. In the second pic you can see the whole bunch is also ignoring the red light
  10. Well the one thing I can warn you about is that after this race you would probably have to sell your road bike, since you will only be dong mtb from now! Good luck and enjoy!!
  11. Can't even start to compare! They say it is 2:1 so a 65km will be like 130 on the road but all depends on the route. If it is like Baba's you will do 65 in 2 hours. If is is like the Megalies Monster get yourself ready to spend all day in the saddle!!
  12. Have you ever used those in mud? Believe me they are crap in mud. Best is go with Maxxis Monorail front and Crossmark back. You can't beat this setup. Super gripy but fast rolling and bullet proof.
  13. Who cares,..............let rip my good fellow!!
  14. HELL DUDE!!! Pick up the phone and phone them if you struggle. Ask for Jenny. They will fix the problem asap. I have phoned/ mailed them countless times and have always been helped very quickly
  15. Only frikkin stage racing!! Sani2C joBerg2C Berg, Bush and Decent for sure!! SabieX?? Magalies adventure Swazi Frontier Not the Epic
  16. Happened twice to me: 1. Drive home and there is this realy old gardener dude on a very familiar Marin with a Fox and the works (I once owned one by the way but it was nationalised). So I pulled over and stopped him and yes....... it was my bike with my old damaged saddle. But you can see this dude is stil of the old type and innocent. He said he baught it from a young white boy for R400 so I bought my bike back for R800 from him. 2. Friday evening outside the video store and there is a nice golden Mongoose dualy (my wife once owned one but it got nationalised) chained to the shop's door with a very old chain. So I phoned the police, they pitch, see the young whitey working in the store and arrested him. Apparently they where looking for the bliksem for a long while. He was well known in the area for stealing bikes.I got my bike back, police got their moerskont
  17. Whether there is damage to property or not, doesn't matter...... It is common decency to respect some one's privacy. There is no difference between your small garden in the urban area and his land out there! You won't like the pedestrians/builders/beggars walking through your garden all day, although they might not cause any damage, just because it is on thier way to the liqour store. Same should count for MTB'ers. If you have a "understanding" with the land owner--- so be it......If not stay of his/her property.
  18. Eish boet....het hom nog nie eers na die BBD skoongemaak nie. Vandag se job!
  19. Oooohh......daai plastiek fiets gaan suffer in die modder!!!
  20. I agree fully!! That is the unfortunate problem we sit with. That is the reason I asked the question. Also have family abroad and they to have crime. They also have murders, armed robberies, etc. and this also differs greatly from area to area even there! I think our crimenals, unfortunetly, are just more brutal?
  21. And if you were to ask these questions on a more international forum......do you think the answers would be any diffrent? Stolen car, held at gun point for wallet, house brake etc, etc....?
  22. That is crazy!!!! For a plastic frame from who-knows-from-what-factory!!! There is a lot of unique/boutique brands out there who's frames are much less. Imho

Had one for 2 years. They are great and very versatile. To protect your paint go to any motorbike shop(I know Yamaha Centurion have some) and buy a sheet of the clear M3 vinyl. Cut it slightly larger than the feet and apply to bumpers, boot, etc where the feet will be situated. You can easily remove it later and it is not UV protected so the paint won't be a different colour.
