  1. Ignore the ignorant.... They too shall realise what they have missed one day.....
  2. Play around with the pressure on the spez tyres. They definitely have a sweet spot for each rider weight...
  3. Why on earth would you want to introduce athletes foot or worse from a public bathroom floor onto your important bits!!!
  4. New research is suggesting that fatter rolls faster. ;-)
  5. I've just had my 3rd ride on my 1x10 (34 up front), for my usual commute home. Absolutely love it.
  6. That's my current setup (GC 2.3 front and FT 2.1 back), which worked great for the recent cradle mountain (some rocky, some nice climbs, and some single track). The only reason I'm changing for this setup is because I commute, which eats the spez tread a little. I've found that they gather mud a bit... But a good solid bunny hop or jump gets rid of most of it... The were easy to set up tubeless on my ztr arch ex rims, and I run them at 2 bar at the back and 1.8 at the front ( I weigh 95kg) which I found to give me the best feel over rocks and good grip around corners.
  7. Pyga oneten in taxi yellow!!! (they won't.... I've asked!)
  8. Also, treat yourself to dry up anything in your nose... It all runs down into the chest. So stuff like sinumax allergy sinus, or corenza c. Just stop in time for it to leave your system if you're competing to win. ;-)
  9. Has anyone had issues (delimitation, bubbles, etc) with Maxxis UST using Stans sealant (Or any other sealant)? I can't seems to find any recent cases, but there are plenty of cases from around 2 years ago.
  10. Just ordered 2 Ardents from CWC on special. One for my front wheel, and one spare. I'm hoping that my commuting which ATE my Spez Ground Control won't eat the Ardent as fast... I'm also really looking forward to the rail like grip it seems to offer on cornering. Now to find a suitable back tyre as the current Spez fasttrack has been good (It's useless in the wet), but wears really fast.
  11. I didn't do last year, but I have entered this year and I'm looking forward to every pedal stroke! I'm sure there will still be plenty of tar and District roads, but those views will make it all worth it.
  12. I love the way it looks. I'm not strong.... I'm cheating slightly with a 42T OneUp at the back... Just waiting for it to arrive. I haven't ridden any crazy climbs with the conversion yet, but I've been ok so far.
  13. Perhaps a bit of both!
  14. I've really been struggling with my boy (2yrs and 8 months) . He simply refuses to ride since I made him wear his helmet. If we go to cycle lab, he will ride those strider bikes for a hour in the store, but won't even look at his strider at home. I know I am doing the right thing with the helmet, but it's really tough that the little guy won't ride because of it.
  15. Honestly, get a dropper for your Epic and keep riding downhill. It's a much cheaper option than a whole new bike. And if you still feel you need a new bike afterwards you can transfer the best upgrade you've ever bought to your new steed.
  16. How are the hills in the cullinan race compared to the ones in the cradle mountain trophy day 1?
  17. My new 1x10 conversion. 34T RaceFace narrow-wide chain ring. She's a beauty.
  18. I have to throw my 2c in here. This place is truly a hidden gem. Whoever built these trails paid a LOT of attention to flow. It's serious fun. Nothing crazy technical... A few nice drops and short steep climbs.. I really liked it, and will definitely be back. Also tons for the kiddies if they aren't riding, and a very nice restaurant with nice showers..
  19. Much better. Just do it. There's a special on at yuppie chef....
  20. In for the full. I missed it last year so I'm very keen.
  21. http://www.jetlineactionphoto.com/find_photos.php They are still identifying photos though....
  22. I really enjoyed the race. Sure, I hated the wait... Just like everyone else. But the rest was awesome. I really can't complain about the grass trails. It's just another kind of off road terrain to master and keep things interesting. Next thing, we'll be complaining that there were too many rocks (people really need to learn to ride the rocky bits). +1 on the seeding, but I'll be back again.
  23. I went for a lesson with Peach. He's really good at explaining the moments you need to make. Most of the stuff on YouTube is ok, but having someone right there to watch you, and who you can ask questions makes a huge difference. Remember though, the trials bike is quite a different thing to the old DS MTB... But, Peach also offers MTB lessons...
  24. It was. But I enjoyed every minute. Except the waiting ones... But all the rest. They were good. My favourite is all the racing hero's trying to run around everyone else who had to wait.
  25. Interestingly, I've had mixed experiences with this store... Which is why I'm following the thread. Conrad has always called me back, but I've had some challenges after workshop visits.... They are willing to fix stuff though. I just don't like having to go back...
